Can you strip the covers to expose and remove the glue? 95% of a book recycled is better than 0%.

Post on craigslist for free for anyone that picks them up? Also, a lot of used bookstores have "free book" bins and stuff out front of them that you might be able to drop them off at. Beyond that, I dono.

while recycling is certainly preferable to tossing it in the trash, at least paper products break down FAIRLY easilyobviously things like binding materials don't break down all that quickly, certain inks are mildly toxic (older inks, anyway), and certain paper coatings (specifically the glossy ones) inhibit deterioration...but all-in-all, it's not nearly as bad as throwing away recyclable plastics^ also, wake freecycle: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/WakeFreecycle/[Edited on April 30, 2010 at 4:06 PM. ive seen some really cool artsy things people do with old magazines and booksperhaps offer them up on freeycle or donate them to goodwill?
