Maybe I missed this in all the years I've had my ipod...but is there anyway to play the songs on my ipod when connecting it to my macbook, without having to download/sync the music? I have all my music stored on another computer.

yes, expand the ipod in iTunes under devices and select your playlist...select the song...play...$profit?


This should still work for iPods...doesn't work for iPhones though.

manually manage music?

if your problem was with autosyncing, try that

any other audio player would show up as a mass storage device where you could access your songs, playlists, and even store random files on it like a USB drive...

...but you're talking about an Apple product
