http://www.themeathouse.comI was working a charity golf tournament today and was fortunate enough to be set up next to this place and they were giving away samples of their marinaded beef tips. Hands down THE BEST meat I have ever had. They have bison, gator, snack, ostrich, and all the regulars as well.Anyone else been/tried this place? It's right behind Outback off of Kildaire in Cary.

4/24/2010 2:22:05 PM

4/24/2010 5:29:18 PM
individually owned franchisesthe owner is really nice, he gave me a bunch of free coupons and info.ANYONE that stops in for the first time gets free samples of their beef tips, so it's worth checking out for that alone
4/24/2010 5:34:35 PM
Picked up some steaks from there today, and I was very impressed with the quality of the meat and the service
4/24/2010 8:08:18 PM
My parents got some steak and chicken there the other week. the steak was marinated in their special rub.It was slammin. They have been back every weekend.
4/24/2010 8:20:31 PM

4/25/2010 10:41:17 PM
wait, so is this a restaurant or grocery store?
4/25/2010 10:43:19 PM
it's a butcher shop. They had some aged USDA prime steaks that looked delicious. I think we're going to hit up the place once i'm done with the patio and ready to grill out.

The Meat House is the Twongo deal of the dayThey are offering a $20 voucher for up to 50% off. http://www.twongo.com/raleigh-durham

My wife and I gave up on buying meat from the local grocery stores and Wal-mart because the selection either sucked or the meat sucked. We started going to a local butcher and have been very happy that we made this choice. Obviously the butcher is a little more expensive, but the steaks, chicken, pork, etc is so much better, easier to cook, and more flavorful.

Nice - there's one in Charlotte, may need to make a trip out there soon for some Bison meat.
5/13/2010 9:07:41 AM
That's pretty cool they can do custom cuts. I'll probably have to start using this for certain cuts once I move back.
5/13/2010 9:11:11 AM
I'm going to try this place out today and get a nice meat surprise for ScHpEnXeL. haha that sounds dirty

5/24/2010 12:40:54 AM
they usually have a warming tray set up at the endcaps of most of their isles w beef tips, chicken, turkey etc. and also Salsas, sauces, breads w/ balsamic vinaigrette,
5/24/2010 12:58:43 AM
ah, so i guess its not for "first time visitors" after all, its pretty much anyone who wants to open the lid and eat some, about as exciting as a visit to Sam's club
5/24/2010 1:01:03 AM
how are the prices?
5/24/2010 2:15:11 AM
^^ No, when I went and was ordering from the meat counter they asked if it was my first time in and then gave me a small package of the marinated beef tips (uncooked) for me to take home and try. I saw them do this for a few other people when I was in and when I have been in since.
5/24/2010 2:57:54 AM
5/24/2010 11:44:41 AM
they have the precooked samples in the warming treys but they will also give you ~half a pound of marinated steak tips if its your first time. just ask someone working there a question about something and they'll ask if its your first time and run to the back to get you a sample. i'm a fan.

whats the best way to cook steak tips
5/24/2010 9:21:31 PM
frying pan with butter works pretty well.
5/24/2010 9:25:09 PM
troo. didnt know if there was anything more exciting I should do.
5/24/2010 9:33:02 PM
We seared our steak tips on high heat until they got brown (90 seconds on each side) and then popped them in the oven for 15 minutes on 375. Perfectly medium-rare, tender and delicious!
5/24/2010 9:40:24 PM
^I might do that. thanks
5/24/2010 9:41:16 PM
I've got one of those BOGO marinated meat coupons, which two should I select? Also it sounds like searing them on the stove top then baking them is the preferred way to cook them? Nobody grills them?
8/26/2013 10:41:03 AM
Maple Bourbon is the best and it's not even close
8/26/2013 10:46:52 AM
Wait you're not misguiding me because I was ragging your bump in that other thread are you?
8/26/2013 10:50:42 AM
No - I would eat them every night. In fact I had them last night.
8/26/2013 11:25:43 AM
