A friend told me today that NCSU is getting rid of their undergraduate Zoology program, is this true? Or is it being absorbed by the Biology department like Botany was? Are there new Biology degree concentrations? It makes me sad to think that State no longer offers the two degrees that I received just a few years ago (although Botany is now called Plant Biology, I still like the old name better).

Still got animal sci, and a monopoly on accreditation as a vet school in the state. We'll survive.http://www2.acs.ncsu.edu/reg_records/crs_cat/dir_ANS.html

Zo and animal science are very different. Zo is a great major not only for those who want a broader scope of the animal kingdom but for pre-meds as well...Not to mention, the source I have is very reliable (trust me) and he said they haven't made a final decision yet[Edited on April 23, 2010 at 10:24 AM. the botany department is still separate, they just changed the name of the degree program.
