Those are my R12 gauges I think.Maybe my R134 gauges are in there. Seems like I've used them recently, but I can't remember. They might be at Frac's.

^^It's usually NOT cheaper these days because (a) it's damn rare to find just the clutch for a compressor anymore unless you go to the dealer, and (b), if the bearing's really shot to hell, then chances are that it has spun the inner race on the compressor snout, ruining it and eliminating any chance of a new clutch/bearing seating and aligning properly on the snout...which spells eventual failure yet again.Depends on what kind of car you have and what kind of compressor you have.Anybody asking about problems needs to specify year, make, and model. That includes you ^!

so my a/c has been pretty non-existent in my car since i bought it. i picked up one of those r134a refill kits with UV dye yesterday. after hooking it up and filling it i found a small leak in the condenser from what i'm assuming was a rock. can the hole be welded or am i going to need to buy a new unit? if a weld is possible, how much should i expect to pay? furthermore would someone on here be interested in doing the work if it's possible?thanks bros

Saps can weld it. I think.

Okay AC compressor went out.I'm t hinking about changing it out myself. But i'm not really sure if i should tackle it or not. The guy at the local Shop took the refrigerant out of it for me. He showed me the 3 peices i need to replace (compressor drier, and the expansion valve). Frankly it doesnt look that hard. He said hell refill it for me if i change it, otherwise he can do it and itll run me $300 + parts. How important is it to flush the system? Is that something i should be worried about?
