Which one is most likely to kill you first?
4/4/2010 6:51:53 PM
Bleach or Cyanide, which will take you out first?
4/4/2010 6:52:37 PM
SNUS IS PROBABLY LEAST HARMFUL SON.LOOK INTO SNUS. ]
4/4/2010 6:52:57 PM
you also have to consider the fact that it takes like 3 cigarettes to equal a single dip pack^ SNUS doesn't give the nicotine effect as well, it would be useful for quitting.[Edited on April 4, 2010 at 6:53 PM. Reason : .]
4/4/2010 6:53:15 PM
OH OH, I thought this was a thread about starting son. Hah!
4/4/2010 6:54:24 PM
haha there is no way you thought that in a Blackdog thread
4/4/2010 6:55:06 PM
i want to know if dip and cigarettes every once in a while is as harmful as doing them all the time. bc i dont smoke or dip every day but i do both sometimes.you cant find anything on the internet comparing them... everything is, "uhh, that stuff is bad"
4/4/2010 7:04:50 PM
I dislike responding to a BlackDog thread, but I got something to say.Snus was marketed heavily towards me a few years ago. I came in to buy some cigarettes and the gas station attendant practically forced me to accept a pouch of Snus from him. It was bizarre.I hope Snus and any and all smokeless tobacco products do not rise in appeal.
4/4/2010 7:08:57 PM
are you really asking that? IS SMOKING A PACK A WEEK AS BAD AS SMOKING A PACK A DAY?let's call a rocket scientist....IS EATING A BURGER A WEEK AS BAD AS EATING A BURGER A DAY?
4/4/2010 7:10:07 PM
^^ I WOULD HOPE NOT AS WELL, CIG ADDICT SON. AT LEAST IT'S NOT FERMENTED THOUGH. ]
4/4/2010 7:10:27 PM
occasional use is not harmful. cigarettes were originally intended to smoke 1-2 a day, not 1-2 packs a day. too much of anything is bad for you
4/4/2010 7:10:58 PM
BlackDog=BlackSheep?
4/4/2010 7:11:46 PM
BridgetSPK the feeling is mutual, don't make me break out: The D.O.C. - Bridget
4/4/2010 7:12:55 PM
occasional use is not as harmful
4/4/2010 7:15:01 PM
Dip > Cigarettes; lung capacity ftw
4/4/2010 7:58:25 PM
smoking will always be more satisfying though, you can't deny that
4/4/2010 10:52:40 PM
more satisfying that you can do it and girls aren't disgusted by it yes, but satisfying to yourself dip wins every time son.
4/4/2010 11:02:29 PM
I was thinking about this situation earlier today. I'm hoping all these smoking bans will make smoking sexy again. I mean, there is nothing sexy about heinous bitches buying cartons of Marlboro Lights from Food Lion and destroying their Dodge Neon and Ford Focus interiors.1-2 per day on occasion ftw.
4/4/2010 11:58:25 PM
there is a camaraderie to dipping among males. but you don't get dip breaks at work.
4/5/2010 1:11:37 AM
I worked for DENR and I dipped all through out the work day. No one ever said anything to me and I was in IT, meaning I had to walk around from computer to computer.
4/5/2010 1:12:54 AM
I, too, dip (dipped) at work.
4/5/2010 9:50:52 AM
There is nothing more disgusting than sitting in class, hearing those little slurps and looking over to see some asshole spitting into his nasty ass sprite bottle filled with black water. UGH. At least cigarette smokers (usually) go outside to participate. And there is no foul smelling body fluid to dispose of as a nasty by-product. So, unrelated to health but needs to be said. Those of you that dip and don't spit in class, or on the sidewalk (cause seriously guys, who wants to step in that?!) thank you. I'm sure you will all flood this with your NOT ALL OF US ARE GROSS. But most of you are.
4/5/2010 11:22:28 AM
I dislike responding to a BlackDog thread, but I got something to say. When I interviewed for a Philip Morris internship like my freshmen year, they were heavily pushing this product as one of their areas of development. I didn't get the internship, probably because I told them I didn't smoke/use any of their products (they asked)
4/5/2010 11:24:56 AM
most normal guys who dip do it in a bottle filled with tissue or toilet paper so if it spills nothing comes out. I have never "slurped" while dipping.
4/5/2010 11:26:02 AM
I have been dipping for the better part of the last 10 years. I got up to a can a day. I have been trying really hard the past several months to quit, but it's definitely tough. I switched to pouches which don't give me the same "kick" as dip, and i am down to a can of those every 3 days or so.The hard part isn't really the physical addiction, but the habit. There are several things that I typically associate with having a dip (driving, working out in the yard, watching sports, fishing, etc). And it is at the point that I find it hard to do those things WITHOUT dipping. But I'm getting there.[Edited on April 5, 2010 at 11:27 AM. Reason : a]
4/5/2010 11:26:11 AM
I've never seen a guy who dips use a bottle stuffed with toilet paper. I can't imagine the type of person who dips be all "Oh hold on, I need to runs to the little boys room so I can stuff my bottle" before putting more in.
4/5/2010 11:32:08 AM
I don't put paper towels into bottles when i use them as spitters, but I do if I use a cup or something else without a lid.
4/5/2010 11:33:37 AM
4/5/2010 11:41:33 AM
And it's even harder because I have a job where I could dip all day if I wanted to.
4/5/2010 11:43:34 AM
I agree dipping in the car is the hardest habit to stop
4/5/2010 11:44:55 AM
^this
4/5/2010 11:45:38 AM
And I have tried sunflower seeds. it's cool for the first mouthful, then i just lose interest. totally not the same
4/5/2010 11:45:54 AM
4/5/2010 11:46:29 AM
I find going from dip to cigarettes is good way to quit, cigarettes are much easier to quit (at least for me)
4/5/2010 11:46:49 AM
^ye, but fuck I can't stand the smell.
4/5/2010 11:47:17 AM
I have never even tried a cigarette in my life, nor would I want to.On the flipside, I have a buddy who quit smoking by dipping. Now he dips a can a day. lol
4/5/2010 11:48:05 AM
I do neither but those who use chewing tobacco don't bother me at all. At least they don't stink the place up.
4/5/2010 11:48:15 AM
what kind do yall use?I'm copenhagen all the way
4/5/2010 11:48:49 AM
I dipped like a fucking fiend for about eight years. Stopped cold turkey in October and haven't looked back.
4/5/2010 11:49:24 AM
When I was trying to quit, I told my friend if he caught me smoking, then I would suck his dick.It took me about a month, but I finally kicked the habit...
4/5/2010 11:49:33 AM
^lolskoal straight
4/5/2010 11:50:06 AM
I dip Grizzly Mint, moreso the Mint Pouches these days. But I still grab a can of the long cut every now and then.Quick Fact: 1 can of Grizzly Mint LC is equivalent to 2.5 packs of cigarettes when it comes to nicotine.
4/5/2010 11:50:58 AM
I have been dipping since 2003 and I have quit several times but it seems like I always revert back. Have tried numerous things to replace the "urge" (gum, seeds, candy etc) but like others have said it is more of a habit. Anyone successfully quit? If so pointers please.[Edited on June 3, 2013 at 3:39 AM. Reason : ]

I'm back on the Skoal train it's the driving that did it for me too. seeds and gum don't do it for mefortunately I can keep a lip in for 2+ hours, so I'm only going a can/week
6/3/2013 9:46:01 AM
I like camel snus a lot. Pretty much use it at work all day, and it helped me and a lot of people I know quit smoking, plus it keeps your breath minty fresh! Also, studies have shown it to be 95-99% safer than cigarettes depending on source. Here's one of many from NIH. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23454227

Puked when I tried chewing tobacco......I was 14. I started smoking when I was 16 and at 30 I am now one month with out a cigarette. I really miss the sensation of inhaling smoke though. Especially when drinking.
6/3/2013 1:55:39 PM
I've been on the dipping train since 99. Tried to quit a few times, but every time hunting season rolls around, I would go back to the habit. I used to be a skoal cherry guy all the day long, but now, I've gone over to grizzly wintergreen.Probably the closest I came to quitting was when I got a bad ulcer, and thought it was something else. It scared the shit out of me, and I started looking at pictures on the internet. The ulcer went away, and I went back to dipping
