WARNING: WORDSSo I hit the road at like 6:30 for the 15 minute drive to Fort Mill on 77 South...before Westinghouse Blvd, shit gets all fucked up...I'm going 10 mph...I hear the end of the Packman show which means its almost 7pm, which is also the supposed time of Peavy's first pitch, so I'm like fuck, if I'm lucky I'll make it there by the 3rd inningTraffic continues to blow dick, I blow a few cigarettes and also utilize the shoulder, as well as the will to turn left from a right turn only lane onto Gold Hill Road...and a big fuck you to the old man who laid on his horn because he was oldGood news, the $5 parking fee has been completely waived, as there is way too much fucking traffic and they now care more about getting people in to buy $5.50 beers...so once again, as I finally get into the parking lot, I take advantage of all the retarded fucks by driving past all their dumb asses in the middle turn lane, and I eventually find a good parking spotI get there in the middle of the 2nd...meet my buddy, get my ticket (don't have to wait in the 100-deep will-call line) and go in...we figure lets hit the seats before getting beerits 1-0 Sox...somebody hit a solo shot...Peavy is on the mound now and the Knights are intimidated...we flag down a beer guy and each buy 2 16oz cans of Bud Light...Peavy is nastySoon however, the Knights' tentativeness and hesitance wears off...they don't fear Peavy's bitch ass, so they decide to hit back to back homers on the overrated bastard. ATTN: Jake Peavy: Knights Castle isn't Petco Park...you will get your shit pushed in, even if you are boys with Philip RiversCarlos Quentin did hit a fucking massive HR over the LF wall though...I'd say 400+ feet...wasn't hit to the light green house on the hill but it was jacked...would've been a 2-run shot but Juan Pierre got thrown out stealing 2nd because he is a limp wristed faggotAlso the crowd was literally the biggest I've ever seen at Knights Castle...first MLB exhibition game in 9 years and damn if the crowd and traffic didn't reflect it...in fact, aside from the terrible traffic entering the game...after the game, we sat in the seats for about 15 minutes waiting for things to clear out...we then went to the concourse and bullshitted for like 10 minutes...we then went outside, walked to my buddy's car on the other side of the stadium, did a little of this and that for like 15 minutes, walked back, and still had traffic when we were leavinggood times though...final score:Charlotte Knights: 4Chicago White Sox: 3Good times, very good times
4/2/2010 12:08:48 AM
damn I miss going to knights games. I got to see BJ Upton play (shortstop, maybe second base) in a game against the Knights before he got called up.I like MLB but sometimes I just wish I could go see some minor league ball
4/2/2010 12:29:19 AM
I remember the days when they had Manny Ramirez, Jim Thome, and I believe Omar Vizquel on the same squad. I couldn't make it to the game tonight, but I'll definitely make it a few times this year. I know it won't be packed like it was tonight though.
4/2/2010 1:21:02 AM
4/16/2010 12:33:53 AM
I got to see Frank Thomas at Knight's Castle a long time ago. It was awesome.
4/16/2010 12:35:31 AM
4/21/2010 5:18:01 PM
Strasburg got the promotion from AA to AAA so he will be pitching at Syracuse...the Knights play Syracuse in mid-June...so if Strasburg hasn't been called up yet, Charlotte area cats might want to consider going to watch Strasburg completely abuse the Knights, if the schedule works out
5/4/2010 11:34:06 PM
lets beat some Braves ass tonight
4/25/2011 2:18:10 PM
i'm tryin to go to a few games to catch the Norfolk Tides in actionand drink lots of beer
4/25/2011 3:46:12 PM
usual night out in Fort Mill. Will this uptown stadium ever come into fruition or is that a pipe dream?
4/25/2011 4:12:09 PM
I think eventually we'll get a stadium uptown butas long as that cocksucker owns all the land in Fort Mill and doesn't want the value to plummet it might take awhile
4/25/2011 4:24:35 PM
I found your OP very enjoyable, especially:
4/25/2011 4:28:54 PM
highlights of the game:- Jordan Schafer single- Lastings Milledge sac flybout to post some pirated video which i wouldve posted 15 minutes after it happened but android + youtube + large file - wifi = no uploads
4/25/2011 9:32:33 PM
is lastings milledge still absolutely insane?
4/25/2011 9:42:59 PM
probably...aside from Schafer he was the only other player I recognized as having played in the bigs
4/25/2011 9:54:27 PM
to anyone interested in going to Thirsty Thursdays, i plan on being at a majority of them
4/27/2011 1:15:18 AM
thinking about going to Thursday's game against Scranton. I haven't gotten my own tickets to a game in a few years. Best method of getting tix....online prior or walk-up? I'm dreading the traffic plus will-call line that Tree mentioned earlier, but I also don't want shitty seats.
4/27/2011 9:53:09 AM
I'm all for Thirsty Thursday, but fuck this week. Any Panther fan who goes this Thursday is hardly a Panther fan at all.
4/27/2011 9:55:27 AM
oh yeah, the draft. maybe next week then
4/27/2011 9:57:56 AM
There are Panthers fans in Charlotte?! If you drive around town all you ever see is this bullshit...
4/27/2011 10:01:47 AM
def not going this weekbut i will be having a thirsty thursday of sorts while watching the draft

6/30/2011 9:37:09 PM
dollar beers are fun....alas, i had to go home after the first gamei thought it was odd that they only played 7 innings in the first game. is that normal for a AAA doubleheader?
6/30/2011 9:56:16 PM
Sox are .500!!!!!!!!!!!
7/2/2011 11:19:56 PM
it'd be awesome if Ozzie got sent down to AAA for a couple weeks, I'd buy home dugout seats

City council approved the new stadium yesterday with a 7-4 vote, but I'm kind of leary that Anthony "Da Mayor" Foxx might veto ithttp://www.charlotteobserver.com/2012/06/12/3310133/charlotte-city-council-backs-deal.html
6/12/2012 1:50:36 PM
^^^ No parking lots in that picture.
6/12/2012 9:33:53 PM
Pretty accurate on that side of town. The new ball park and public park take up most all the lots in that area now.
6/12/2012 9:39:10 PM
that looks like a real nice stadium, especially with the skyline views... but it's weird how the main entrances are at the foul poles.
6/12/2012 11:32:37 PM
6/12/2012 11:43:52 PM
wonder if thats some kind of property tax writeoff loopholeBB&T is basically gonna pay half the construction costs ($20 million of the $40 million) for naming rightsbut Mayor Foxx acts like he's more concerned about the interests of Fort Mill, SC than Charlotte, NC, the city he is actually the mayor of
6/13/2012 12:12:48 AM
20 million form bb&t, 8 from the county, 7.25 from city, 750,000 from booster club only leaves 4 millionthats solid
6/13/2012 12:15:10 AM
and from a mayoral standpoint, if he's looking out for the city, the extra income for center-city restaurants for 70 days/nights a year will be great
