Went and saw it for no other reason other than everything else out looked stupid and I thought this might be enjoyableI actually really liked it...I'd say it's aimed at kids/families, but it's def. enjoyable for everyone

fuck dreamworks
3/28/2010 4:26:47 PM
i have nothing against dreamworks, but the particular artistic style of this movie doesn't appeal to me
3/28/2010 4:46:19 PM
I've surprisingly heard really good things. But yeah Dreamworks typically sucks and adheres to the same shitty formula on every movie.I might check this one out though.[Edited on March 28, 2010 at 5:19 PM. Reason : .]

3/28/2010 10:15:50 PM
This shit is good. 9/10 for sure.
3/28/2010 10:30:33 PM
Normally I'd agree that dreamworks is shitty, but everything I've seen about this one makes it look worth seeing.
3/28/2010 10:52:31 PM
this movie was great, in a lot of ways.
3/29/2010 8:06:25 AM
This movie was fantastic. I liked it as much, if not slightly more than Up.
3/31/2010 8:57:42 AM
girls trying to get me to go, after reading this thread I think I will
3/31/2010 3:16:20 PM
better than UP? hmmm i may take the girl to see this...
3/31/2010 3:26:46 PM
I mean, come on.CRAIG FERGUSON.
3/31/2010 5:42:00 PM
I thought it was fantastic. See it in 3D if you can.
4/1/2010 4:19:23 PM
I was very pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this movie. My wife and I decided to see it on a whim and it was definitely worthwhile.Of course, it helped that the main dragon character had very similar mannerisms to one of our cats.

the dragon was exactly what the offspring of my two pets would look like:p.s., i loved this movie. best that dreamworks has ever done. if toy story 3 wasn't coming out this year i would say hand it an oscar already.

I am still amazed and how an animated film really really appealed to me. It was quite moving. I did not watch it in 3D, but I might just do that.[Edited on April 2, 2010 at 10:44 AM. Reason : /]

I really enjoyed it.I also want copies of the dragon sketches in the credits.
4/2/2010 2:53:05 PM
I was skeptical about the movie, and then I was skeptical about the thread, so I checked other sites, and lo and behold, it's currently at a whopping 98% on Rotten Tomatoes. [Edited on April 2, 2010 at 5:21 PM. Reason : out of 122 total reviews, no less.]
4/2/2010 5:19:58 PM
I, too, enjoyed this movie.

My friends are saying things ranging from "B" to "Instant Classic."I'm all about some fuck dreamworks but a movie's a movie, maybe they got their shit together for once.
4/5/2010 2:22:33 AM
For once?I know Pixar is clearly #1 but Dreamworks has some quality titles. This one being as good as anything Pixar has come out with.
4/5/2010 8:43:24 AM
Kung Fu Panda is passable but it's a pure kids movie unfortunately. If you like Shrek, good for you I guess.[referring to only the animation dept. btw]
4/5/2010 11:47:42 AM
^^^ I would say it much closer to an instant classic than it is to a B.
4/5/2010 12:35:40 PM
Close to classic. Got two 3D tickets for $29 Afterward I considered it to be almost worth it. It was that good.GF hates animated movies and actually liked it.
4/5/2010 1:07:02 PM
Anybody seen in 3D vs. 2D and can comment if 3D worth it?Beowulf=NoAvatar=YesThis=???[Edited on April 5, 2010 at 10:46 PM. Reason : .]
4/5/2010 10:41:43 PM
It's good, I don't think I'd miss it. So put me down for "No".
4/5/2010 11:31:22 PM
^^ I saw it in 2D and it was totally worth it, but if you can see it in 3D I would think that would be the way to go.
4/6/2010 12:29:23 AM
Great movie. Pretty sure it's the first 3D movie I've ever seen...good experience.
4/18/2010 10:49:43 AM
avatar 3d yes, pretty good, this 3d yes, pretty good but it just makes it prettier didn't seem to really add a lot i felt....this isn't a "b" movie, it's probably not a blockbuster but it's resonably solid and people of all ages should enjoy it
4/18/2010 11:24:05 AM
great movie with a heart, i think pixar is way overrated cause of movies like monsters inc which was by far the most soulless movie i've ever seenbut this was good all around, the 3-d was nice, not avatar nice but very worth it
