Anyone else watching this?

I love Lauren Graham and have always liked Craig T Nelson. Cast is great...I like the writing...we're on episode 4 now and I haven't been disappointed.

I started watching because I'm a big Jason Katims fan, it's not as good as FNL but it's still quality...the dialogue/storytelling could be a little more subtle/less obvious but whatever. Also Dax Shepherd plays a good retarded stoner, probably because he is in fact a retarded stoner.

Alright, I can't sleep and figured I'd write up a bit more.

elkaybie, I looooooove Craig T. Nelson!

I'm also a big fan of Heather Graham and Peter Krause.

And, armorfrsleep, I didn't realize it, but I dig Jason Katims, too!

So far, there's one glaring problem that I'm curious to see how they will address. Erika Christensen is not good...whether she's unlikable, miscast, or a bad actor, she's just not good.

I think three names or a middle initial=actor cred, whether right or wrong. See: Philip Seymour Hoffman, William H. Macy, John C. Reilly (who are all great actors), and so on.

I watched the first episode and didn't like this show.

I love this show. Maybe it's because I am a mom and I really identify with the show. Also, I really really identify with the parents of Max and what they are going through with his Asperger's. I just love it and find myself boohooing at times.

I don't much tv anymore outside of sports, but I remember Coach and thought it was pretty good.

Holy shit, they addressed the Erika Christensen problem!

Tonight's ep made her much more sympathetic and less annoying.

And I was definitely thinking that they'd have to go somewhere with her husband (Joel) and the Buddhist supermom (Racquel) some place more serious, which they appear to do in next week's ep.

I assume they had the whole season filmed months ago so I'm wondering why they chose to take me on this roller coaster of hate for Julia.

Alos, Craig T. Nelson is the mother fucking man, and Coach was a great show.

And Parenthood definitely has a Family Stone vibe which I imagine some folks might be annoyed by. I happen to love Family Stone....

^agreed about the Family Stone similarities. But that was actually one of the few 'chick flicks' that i saw with my ex-gf that i really enjoyed which may be why i enjoy this show.

hoping this show gets picked up for a second season

AHA, I didn't realize how tipsy I was in this thread. (Heather instead of Lauren, and "somewhere....some place")

Tonight's ep was excellent, except for the parts about the teens and their sex lives. For now, I really could care less about their privates.

^I seriously hope it gets picked up, too! Excellent acting all around and good-to-excellent writing from show to show. This is why we watch TV.

Excuse me, I couldn't care less.

I used to know how to use that phrase, but TWW has turned my mind around.

whoa!! I feel the same way about realizing that she is ^^^^

Anywho...just started to watch Tuesday's episode, and I totally relate to the opening scene when Adam is told about his father's infidelity--"That son of a bitch" hahaha
it's funny how you feel about things as an adult when the veil of your superhuman parent comes off

my wife and I watch this show and I'm usually pretty picky and don't watch a lot of TV. It is certainly nothing profound but it is a good ensemble cast that has decent chemistry and is entertaining enough to put on if we are home. I'll keep tuning in for awhile.
