You can have it done professionally by the NC Dept of Ag: http://www.ncagr.gov/agronomi/sthome.htmhttp://www.ncagr.gov/agronomi/uyrst.htm

So basically I go here:4300 Reedy Creek RdRaleigh, NCGet soil test boxes, drop the back off, and wait a week.Ands its free. Cool!

^yep. NCCES gives each person one free soil test a year. And if you need more, I don't think they're all that expensive

Pretty painless. I used to have a blue million of the boxes, but don't anymore. Yep, just go by the lab, pick up the boxes, and you know the rest.I've taken 20 or 30 at a time, but I don't remember what they cost.

^^^More than a week right now. But yeah, the hardest part of the whole thing was folding the boxes into boxes.

I want to plant Bermuda Princess 77Found here:http://www.penningtonseed.com/ProductDetails.aspx?id=237But I cant find it in any stores. Home Depot and Lowes dont have any

^^ Those meters suck and are never accurate. Go to the NCAGR building up on reedy creek rd. When you pull in their is a sign to the right that says soil test drop off/ pick up. Go around their and you can pick up all the soil sample sheets and boxes you need. Fill the sheet out correctly and take a correct soil sample then drop it all back off at the same place. They'll mail you the results in a few weeks or you can view them online. It's very easy and free. Everyone pays for this with their tax dollars so take advantage of it. I submit about 50 soil sample to them a year.

^^^fuuuuuckk sand cones. although, DOT method is even worse
3/25/2010 4:11:43 PM
In sand/gravel/stone, I'd rather do a sand cone. (can't do a drive tube anyways!)In silt/clay, I'd rather do a drive tube.We don't have a nuke gauge
3/25/2010 5:33:40 PM
nuclear gauge ftw. im gona really love it come summer time
