i really hate seth greenberg b/c he seems to be of the school of thought that just making the tournament is a heroic feat. perhaps this is b/c he struggles to make the tournament himself.]

I love Seth Greenberg.

He didn't really say that did he?
3/14/2010 7:55:17 PM
if he had just scheduled a couple of real out of conf teams besides temple he would be in, shit he probably didn't even need to win them all or any of them, just for an rpi boost, why can't he comprehend that?

jay bilas looked like he wanted to smack a ho after greenberg's interview

He's got to leave for St. John's after this doesn't he?[Edited on March 15, 2010 at 2:14 AM. Reason : I think it might even be step down though]

^^ St. John's is a good job honestly and with a far higher ceiling than Virginia Tech in terms of job prestige. Up until Mike Jarvis fucked it up, St. John's had been getting top flight NYC talent for years. Off the top of my head I know that Lance Stephenson AND Kemba Walker would have gone there if they were a competitive program -- both said so during their recruitment. They are a sleeping giant and MSG WILL fill up and get behind them if they are good. It's all about how committed to the basketball program the school wants to be. It was pretty embarrassing for a small Catholic school to get involved with the stuff they did under Jarvis.Norm Roberts was a Les Robinson of sorts who was brought in just to keep the kids straight and graduate some guys. But they are ready to compete again IMO.*** If it was Rutgers or Seton Hall it'd be a step down, but St. John's is different. MSG is quite a draw for kids in that area and being able to play in it is huge.[Edited on March 15, 2010 at 9:12 AM. Reason : x]

yeah, it's definitely a better job

St. John's fans are kind of like State fansWe still think its 1983, they still think its 1985

at first i read this as official laughs at Seth Greenberg Thread... I was all like, where he at?

The St. John's job is miles above Virginia TechEspecially for a guy from the NYC area like GreenbergI don't see how you can even question that
3/15/2010 11:18:19 AM
^^ he was referring to VT's resume this year.
3/15/2010 11:46:51 AM
Oh, ha, well he should've been out of the tournament for that statement alone.
3/15/2010 11:50:14 AM
The man still hasn't figured out that a weak ooc schedule will keep you out of the tourney
3/15/2010 1:02:10 PM
Regardless I think they should have been in over Wake. Having a tough OOC isn't enough to get you in either and that was all Wake had on them.
3/15/2010 3:32:23 PM
3/15/2010 3:55:45 PM
Honestly, based on the apathy towards VT not making the NCAAs up here, I doubt there would be much gnashing of teeth if he left for St. John's.
