NyM410 and I were brainstorming and all we can think of are Herb, Ben Howland and Oliver Purnellcan anybody think of any others? this is perfect time for you to shine, you know-it-all sports gurus.

LOL you're awesome.Interesting that 2 of those coaches have never achieved anything of consequence. [Edited on March 8, 2010 at 2:05 PM. Reason : fa]
3/8/2010 2:04:07 PM
probably Billy DonovanI'd imagine Calipari has to have done it as well]
3/8/2010 2:04:53 PM
A+ thread would read again
3/8/2010 2:05:14 PM
Jim HarrickJohn CalipariOh, I thought you meant coaching schools to NCAA probation in 3 different conferences.
3/8/2010 2:06:01 PM
herb left us - too bad for him that he can't deal w/ the pressure
3/8/2010 2:07:07 PM
Calipari hasn't done it yet....or did the SEC just announce their awards?and I don't think Jim Harrick is currently coaching
3/8/2010 2:10:29 PM
I like when a coach wins the award, then he quits his job because he is a pussy
3/8/2010 2:11:57 PM
and Donovan has only coached at two schools, Marshall and UFand didn't win it at Marshall
3/8/2010 2:13:04 PM
this isn't going to turn into a Herb threadif it does, i'll ask to get it locked.this is simply for the sake of trivia
3/8/2010 2:15:42 PM
Winning anything in the PAC-10 this year shouldn't count....As a conference, they should just be quiet and hope everyone forgets they're there. [Edited on March 8, 2010 at 2:42 PM. Reason : .]
3/8/2010 2:41:48 PM
good call. but the thing is, you can post that shit in the ASU thread. this thread has nothing to do with ASU[Edited on March 8, 2010 at 2:43 PM. Reason : g]
3/8/2010 2:43:05 PM
If Herb wins the Pac 10 tourney he deserves his props.
3/8/2010 2:46:49 PM
Joanne McCallie (Duke Women's Basketball) won COY in four different conferences.
3/8/2010 3:07:10 PM
i should have said D-I. she won one in D-III and then three in D-I

3/8/2010 9:15:51 PM
rick pitino won national coach of the year while in the big east, then won sec and cusa coach of the year. that's close, right?oh and don't forget herb sendek.
3/8/2010 11:26:13 PM
sendek was mentioned by his personal dick sucker in the first post
3/8/2010 11:28:47 PM
3/8/2010 11:45:27 PM
Herb is a good man and good coach. Sidney is a BAAAAAAAD man quick with the pimp hand.
3/9/2010 12:43:13 AM
hypothesis: ncstatetke is actually herb sendek, who used most of his nc state salary to found the beta beta chapter of tau kappa epsilon as a front for trolling internet message boards. he even went so far as to modify old agromecks to reinforce the illusiondiscuss amongst yourselves!
3/9/2010 12:51:34 AM
I can't confirm it for sure, but I believe Bob Huggins has. Bill Self has at least 2
3/9/2010 5:19:49 AM
3/9/2010 8:03:02 AM
Herb Sendek
3/9/2010 9:03:57 AM
It amazes me how people can forget that Herb left on his own free will. Some dipshit commentator says it during a basketball game and all of a sudden it becomes a fact.
3/9/2010 9:15:49 AM
3/9/2010 9:33:58 AM
Oh 2006. You were a heartless bitch.
3/9/2010 12:01:50 PM
Jerry Tarkanian? Then again, does anything from 99% of his career even count now?
3/9/2010 1:32:04 PM
Thad Matta won COY at Butler, Xavier and Ohio State
3/9/2010 1:36:29 PM
Leonard Hamilton has three is we're gonna count a National COY award as one.
3/9/2010 1:46:08 PM
^^ nice.
3/9/2010 3:39:13 PM
good call on Matta. how could I forget about one of the 12 Disciples?
3/9/2010 9:44:00 PM
He coached under Sendek for one season and he's a disciple huh?
3/9/2010 9:52:47 PM
coached under Herb one year, left for WCU, then returned to Miami-OH to coach under another disciple, Charlie Colesso I guess he's a disciple AND a disciple of a disciple but again, this is not a Herb thread. simply a trivia thread
3/9/2010 11:13:24 PM
new topic: how many of herb's disciples have surpassed herb?off the top of my head, thad matta and sean miller.
3/10/2010 8:07:36 AM
when does this guy get his first head job?http://arizona.rivals.com/viewcoach.asp?coach=1715&sport=2&year=2010
3/10/2010 8:13:19 AM
Archie will be a head coach within a year or twoso will Dedrique Taylor. he interviewed for the Army head coach this past summer

3/10/2010 1:00:12 PM
3/10/2010 1:09:38 PM
IUPUI put together a nice 24-10 (15-3) record and Western Carolina finished 22-11 (11-7) and had nice wins @ Louisville and against tournament team Wofford
3/10/2010 1:28:23 PM
bah, I can't believe I forgot about IUPUI...they actually have a chance to make the tourney so you're correct on that one, but Larry Hunter hasn't made it to the NCAAs since he's been at WCU as far as I can tell so I would say he's struggling. Also Mark Phelps is running Drake into the ground. [Edited on March 10, 2010 at 1:42 PM. Reason : .]
