he's wrestling tonighthe's wrestling goddamn hulk hoganthe man can't help himselfit's really sadi know he needs money (and hogan needs to feed his own ego), but damn
3/8/2010 10:02:38 AM
yes, yes it is. I was really hoping he could stick to retirement better than Terry Funk, as WM was such a great send-off, but apparently that's not the case.
3/8/2010 12:33:16 PM
^^ if so, I may actually watch that.
3/8/2010 3:15:01 PM
why would you want to watch a 61 year old wrestle a 57 year old when the 57 year old couldn't ever wrestle in the first place?with that said, supposedly raw tonight will open with two 45 year olds (undertaker and hbk), so that's not much better
3/8/2010 7:09:56 PM
Because it's the nature boy son.[Edited on March 8, 2010 at 7:31 PM. Reason : And I hate rasslin!]
3/8/2010 7:31:35 PM
Is he even flexible enough to do the figure four anymore?
3/8/2010 9:17:58 PM
Ok. I didn't watch any rasslin, did slick Rick and Hogan go at it?
3/9/2010 2:48:28 PM
3/9/2010 2:56:27 PM
no, it's safe to say that TNA will be gone by 2012WWE has been pushing younger guys for almost two years nowundertaker and hbk will retire this year most likely, and aren't hurting for cash like flairbtw, hogan and flair did wrestle, and they juiced a LOT because neither of them can hardly move any more
3/9/2010 3:06:43 PM
Well, hell. Looks like I missed out. Who won?
3/9/2010 3:13:56 PM
There were two matches. The first was a no contest because Sting did a run-in, and Hogan & Abyss won the second won. It's a goddamn mess of shitty booking and shitty business planning. They've hyped up getting RVD for six months and gone crazy with the rumors in the past two or three weeks, then within fifteen seconds of showing up on TV they have Sting beat the shit out of him. It's terrible.
3/9/2010 4:16:08 PM
Oh wow! That sounds awful.
3/9/2010 4:27:19 PM
I forgot to mention, before the beatdown they had RVD come out of the crowd for the match, hit the Rolling Thunder, and beat Sting in under a minute. So they buried Sting (who himself has been off TV for quite a while), then buried RVD.On top of that, Sting is a shitty heel anyway. It's not his fault, he's just a million times better as face...it plays to his strengths. It's the same reason that Jericho is a million times better as a heel.
3/9/2010 4:40:24 PM
I just can't believe how SHITTY the booking is in TNA. Who didn't see Sting pulling the swerve? Who doesn't see Nash turning on EY, giving his boys roster spots? Who thinks Shannon Moore is a fucking draw? Unbelievable!

Hogan was a hell of a wrestler in his early days.
3/9/2010 6:19:09 PM
I have no idea of what's going on in professional wrestling. But I remember all of the old school guys. What happened to the Ultimate Warrior? That dude was an animal!
3/9/2010 6:22:22 PM
"OH MAH GAWD KING KANE HAS GOT THA URN!!!""PUPPIES JR, PUPPIES!"
3/9/2010 6:31:41 PM
^I still don't know what that post means, but this seems to be the thread for it
3/9/2010 6:41:22 PM
The Ultimate Warrior was also a terrible wrestler.Vince has always been obsessed with charismatic roided-up monsters, though, and UW was truly the ultimate in that category. And yes, Hogan was a serviceable worker during his first stint with New Japan, but no one has ever considered him a great in-ring wrestler. His personality is what makes him the greatest draw of all time.
3/9/2010 10:47:16 PM
I remember this wrestler about ten years ago (or so) that used to come out in a Dinosaur Jr. shirt. It was the "Feel the pain" shirt. I have that exact shirt and thought this guy was kind-of cool because I'm huge Dinosaur fan. However, the wrestler was probably terrible, and a douche.

Ric Flair is the greatest wrestler of all time, because he had awesome personality AND great in-ring ability.I loved Hulk Hogan when I was a kid, but going back now I can't find a single Hogan promo that I find to be either affecting or entertaining. They're not bad, but they're stock promos. On the other hand, I'm entertained in one way or another by nearly every Flair promo I see.Granted, it's easier to cut an awesome promo as a heel. ]
3/10/2010 12:24:59 AM
not gonna argue that, just saying Hogan is right up there
3/10/2010 12:29:24 AM
I can't help but like Flair because his persona is just so absurd and over the top. I love it!
3/10/2010 1:10:48 AM
I don't understand how people say Flair is one of the greatest wrestlers of all-timewhen for the past 20 years the guy has wrestled what is essentially the same match. chop, chop, skin the cat, chop, get chopped, frontfacebump, beg for life, low blow, chop, chopblock to the back knee, figure four, win.ok OCCASIONALLY he wouldn't even bust out the figure four, he'd do an awkward cradle.as far as Promos? I'll give that to him. but Flair is overrated imo - always has been.

I don't disagree that everything after his first WWF run was pretty much autopilot in the ring, but before that it's great stuff.Check out these:Flair vs. Kerry Von Erich at Texas StadiumFlair vs. Sting at Clash of the ChampionsFlair vs. Ricky Steamboat at Clash of the Champions VIFlair vs. Randy Savage at Wrestlemania VIIIFlair vs. Harley Race in a cage match at Starrcade

Sting is 51 and has been working an extremely limited TV schedule for TNA. Supposedly he'll retire this year. An interesting turn to the story is that Vince has apparently floated the idea of inducting Sting into the Hall of Fame, but he obviously wouldn't do it while Sting is with TNA. On top of that, even if he were to offer induction to Sting, he might refuse, because Sting has always been very vocal about being proud that he never worked for Vince.
