if it weren't graduation weekend, I'd make the drive to Alabama for The Hangout

ahah, man it figures Alabama would finally hold a decent festival after I left.

If I can swing that weekend, I might just fly down to Pensacola and check it out.

MerleFest sounds amazing. Why have I never been before?

midnight jam with Zac Brown would be worth the price of admission for me

for anybody who's been in the past -- how does camping work?

I want to go to MerleFest this year. If I can't get a group together myself, I may try and get a TWW one going.

^ I'm tentatively in. If I don't find a job I won't have the money and if I have a job I may not have the time but I'm confident I can swing something

^^ Camping is actually off-site, about a mile walk away, but the Boy Scouts run buses to and from the Campus. Obviously, the earlier you get there the better camping you'll have but you can generally always find something. A couple of years I couldn't make it up till Saturday morning and I still found a spot. It does cost extra though.

I wouldn't be able to go until midday Friday but I suspect the same for most people.

And now that I think about I, my old camping gear is gone. -.-

EDIT: I probably have a single tent somewhere, which is probably what I'd use anyway. I snore like a freight train so even when I had my old two-room TajmaTent people hated on me.

I'll probably roll in with a 2 person tent myself, I think most of us would like that much privacy but it is good to have a group which can claim a spot on the lawn and watch each others stuff while the rest are out wandering around (not that theft is a big problem there, most people are pretty chill and respectful).

GF's dad works at Wilkes CC, so we usually get some free tickets and just crash at her parents. It was hot as balls last year. Might miss it this year cause cause we'll be moving.

Headliners are meh for me, besides Strokes, Arcade Fire & Phoenix. Will make the decision between Lolla and Sasquatch a bit more difficult with MGMT, Spoon, The Big Pink, Grizzly Bear, Matt & Kim, & The Black Keys heading to Chicago....but still some strong appeal for me at Sasquatch. Big decisions to make.

Anyone definitely going to Merlefest?

I'm planning on driving down after work on Friday so I probably won't get there until about midnight but I was wondering if anyone was planning on camping. I'll chip in with the camping fee and I only need a little room for my truck / tent.

I didn't get to go last year and I probably won't be able to go next year so I'm stoked

anyone go to the Lake Eden Arts Festival? Been going since it began.

http://www.theleaf.com

Usually some bigger name bands but I typically go to discover new music from around the world. Quite eclectic. Not as big as some of the larger festivals and there's not just music.

Was like 20 feet from Bela Fleck and Abigail Washburn. All the artists love playing there. Can volunteer and go for free.

http://www.musiconthemountaintop.com/

Just noticed my friends band (Holy Ghost Tent Revival) is playing. Might have to check it out. Looks like a good line up too.

^^I decided that not only am I not going, I can't. Besides, the TWW 10 Year Party is that weekend.

I.E. I can't afford it and would rather just make next year fucking great. I'm just praying that the lineup will be like it is this year, because the schedule is amazing. My Dad almost disowned me for not telling him about Merlefest, because his favorite band (Joey + Rory) is playing there.
