6500K florescent bulbs work fine.Go with a redder bulb to encourage flowering.[Edited on February 14, 2010 at 8:50 AM. Reason : ]

Why is everyone jumping to conclusions. She might be growing vegetables and stuff in her basement. Don't judge her $500 power bill.

Get something similar to the "Sun Blaze T5 High Output Fluorescent System" and a stand here:http://www.littlegreenhouse.com/accessory/lights2.shtmlI'd get at least a 4 bulb fixture. You will need a redder bulb to encourage the plants to bloom and fruit.

Wait. You're growing vegitables. But you don't want them to flower?Good luck with that

Yeah...for seedlings, stick with 6500K bulbs.Run the lamp about 18 hours a day (a wall plug timer from Home Despot, Lowe's, etc. is useful).
