They're general bikes. They have small shocks in the front, but they are obviously not mountain bikes. I wouldn't call them "road bikes" because I associate road biking with racing. They are probably close to ten years old.

They will definitely get you across campus, and the way bikes are stolen on campus, these bikes for this price will definitely be perfect for leaving outside your night classes.
