Ya hear about that Sdrive 35i ? It's second only to the Porsche Boxster S. But just in case that's not good enough, there are PLENTY of other manufacturers to choose from. I heard a rumor that Honda is coming out with a small light sports car soon! Figure less than 2600lbs, 195hp, and a price tag around $20k!Here's a link to an article comparing the prototype to a 2010 Civic Si.http://tiny.cc/GX1Nx
2/23/2010 11:22:32 AM
^not a fair comparison. the prototype has a few stickers that are proven to give significant performance gains.

So... Here... Enjoy...J-spec CR-Zhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ti-4D4E2EHE&feature=fvhl2011 Honda CR-Z @ 2010 Detroit Showhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tmp6fjw3jDI[Edited on April 18, 2010 at 12:44 AM. Reason : .]

^I'm also saying, wtf is the point of the car? I mean, it could have been executed much, much better... however, I'll reserve my full and complete opinion on the car until after driving reviews are posted. But so far, it's underpowered and overweight. 150+hp and <2800lbs would have made for a nice, peppy sports car imo.
4/18/2010 4:50:34 AM
agreed.instead of the 1.5 litre Fit engine, they could have at least taken the 1.8 litre engine from the Civic.i mean, really... wtf have they made?

I wonder how well the CR-Z even handles? Struts in the front, torsion beam axle in the back, and the engine out in front of the front axle...awesome.
4/19/2010 11:44:51 AM
There's nothing wrong with torsion beams
4/19/2010 2:55:31 PM
^^ Hondurr says it will handle just as well as the CRX!

japan produces the lamest cars these days.

Two new reviews of the CR-Z from Car & Driver and USA Today:http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/car/10q2/2011_honda_cr-z_hybrid-first_drive_reviewhttp://www.usatoday.com/money/autos/reviews/healey/2010-06-18-honda-cr-z-test-drive_N.htmQuote from the C&D article:

my 86 CRX-Si would have been awesome with an AWD drivetraini should buy one and swap one in

I feel the same way about my '92 GS-R....project?

hai gaiz.

The CR-Z will be failure of Hindenberg proportions for Honda. It offers nothing to any major segment of car buyers. It doesn't get good gas mileage, it doesn't go fast in a straight line, it doesn't have any room, it's heavy for what it is, and its styling is quirky.
6/18/2010 11:31:13 PM
and the yuppie drones will snatch it up like hotcakes as if it were a Honda Prius
6/18/2010 11:53:19 PM
^^I wouldn't call it a potential failure of that magnitude. I think they're only projecting sales of 15k a year in the US.
6/19/2010 12:43:45 AM
Yuppie drones prefer the convenience of a 4 door.
6/19/2010 12:55:38 AM
i could see this car being purchased by the dudes that drive bugs, miatas, and minis.

Road and Track tested a Spoon Sports CR-Z in this month's issue.2500lbs, 145 hp (at 8500 rpm) and 25mpg city / 29mpg highway0-60 in 7.2 seconds, 15.9 1/4 mile time for $8,000 + the price of a CR-Z (let's say $28,000 total). Is there anyone out there dumb enough to buy this car? What an utterly worthless vehicle.
6/24/2010 4:25:08 PM
how did this turn in to a CR-Z thread?fuck that junk
6/24/2010 4:37:37 PM
two Spoon CR-Z's with MOTEC EXHAUST!!!
6/24/2010 5:12:11 PM
spoon engines will fetch a premium before race wars!
6/24/2010 5:53:13 PM
^^^It's one of the more relevant existing Honda threads. You try and get anything unlocked and you have to wait several days thanks to these slack ass moderators
