and what event is your most and least favorite?I tend to like the summer games more and while it isn't the World Cup I still like watching the men's soccer tournament the most. I am not too worried about gymnastics. As for the winter games, I like bobsledding the most. I don't get excited about figure skating.
2/10/2010 2:07:03 PM
I prefer the World Seriesfollowed by March Madnessfollowed by NFL playoffs......followed by the WNBA......followed by the World Cup......followed by the Olympics
2/10/2010 2:09:27 PM
come on, the summer is far and away the more entertaining of the two. the luge is retarded, although i do enjoy the bobsled
2/10/2010 2:12:35 PM
olympic hockey is fucking amazing!! Most skiing and snowboarding events are a lot of fun to watch.Winter > Summer. Except in Vancouver, where it's supposed to be 47 and rain everyday.
2/10/2010 2:16:11 PM
Overall, Summer>>>>WinterHowever, Olympic Hockey is my favorite. Speed Skating is also towards the top of my list.
2/10/2010 2:17:23 PM
Olympic Hockey is pretty $$$$.Everything else, ehh.
2/10/2010 2:18:09 PM
Definitely summer.
2/10/2010 2:22:38 PM
^^True, the hockey tournament is cool too.
2/10/2010 2:26:10 PM
I think i enjoy Winter more. It's mostly because of Hockey, but i also enjoy the freestyle and alpine skiing as well as the nordic jump. Plus there's nothing like laying on the couch and taking a nap to some curling. Swimming and diving are probably my favorite summer events, the rest i'm impartial about.
2/10/2010 2:29:29 PM
summer definitelybasketball, which is the only olympic sport in either summer or winter that i really care aboutplus hot gymnastsalso you get to see freaks of nature like Usain Bolt[Edited on February 10, 2010 at 2:41 PM. Reason : .]
2/10/2010 2:41:44 PM
Winter by farAll the cool shit you only get to see every 4 yearsRunning, wrestling, basketball...I see that shit all the time
2/10/2010 2:45:21 PM
yeah i watch wrestling all the time too
2/10/2010 2:57:56 PM
Summer, and it's not even close.
2/10/2010 3:28:07 PM
Winter > Summer because of hockey and anything on skiis.Finland takes all gold this year yes?
2/10/2010 3:32:49 PM
Summer olympics is great, I could watch that all day.Winter olympics normally sucks.
2/10/2010 3:34:10 PM
Plus Winter sports look much better in HD
2/10/2010 4:02:49 PM
Summer because I'm a goddamn patriot and we run that shit.
2/10/2010 4:04:10 PM
Winter >>> SummerI have a hard time picking out a favorite event too. I love all men's downhill skiing events, followed by men's freestyle skiing, then bobsled, and luge.I'm not really sure how a man running around a track at 15-20mph is more entertaining than a man flying down a mountain on skis going 80mph.[Edited on February 10, 2010 at 4:10 PM. Reason : its probably the same reason so many ppl love NASCAR]
2/10/2010 4:07:03 PM
This is like choosing between being the top scientist in your field or having mad cow disease.
2/10/2010 4:07:54 PM
Wow I'm suprised at all the winter love. Summer is much more entertaining. Winter only has hockey. Bobsled & luge are cool to watch for like 2 runs, then you realize you are not seeing anything cool at all really, just something you wish you could be doing yourself.
2/10/2010 4:33:14 PM
Yeah that ski jumping sucks cock, who wants to see them get 100m of airGive me shotput any day[Edited on February 10, 2010 at 4:35 PM. Reason : x]
2/10/2010 4:35:35 PM
Summer > WinterCurling is kind of dope, though[Edited on February 10, 2010 at 4:38 PM. Reason : ]
2/10/2010 4:38:12 PM
I like the Summer olympics better just because there seems to be more sports that are entertaining (swimming, gymnastics, track and field, soccer, basketball, etc). Although speed skating and hockey are pretty bad ass at the winter olympics.

It's too bad that when they changed the 4 year cycle for the winter games that they didn't make it the year before the FIFA World Cup because then there would be a major sporting event every year. As it stands now...2010: FIFA World Cup, Winter Olympics2011: IRB Rugby World Cup, Women's FIFA World Cup (I don't care)2012: Summer Olympics, Euro Cup2013: I guess we have the CONCACAF Gold Cup and FIFA Confederations Cup, but having the winter games in the empty year would be nice.[Edited on February 10, 2010 at 7:43 PM. 2/10/2010 7:42:32 PM
2013: World Baseball Classic!!!
2/10/2010 7:47:00 PM
Winter >>>>>> SummerHockey, curling, short track, bobsled, hell I can even enjoy figure skating because I know a punch of figure skaters.
2/10/2010 7:57:13 PM
^^True, but that is still growing. Maybe some day it will be a big deal too.
2/10/2010 8:00:25 PM
Maybe as big as the Confederations Cup!!!
2/10/2010 8:02:31 PM
B4C is the only person in the world other than Sepp Blatter who thinks the Confederations Cup is a good idea.
2/10/2010 8:05:15 PM
^My point exactly! The Confederations Cup and Gold Cup are in 2013 when there is no Olympic games, or World Cup, so I guess those are the biggest international sporting events of 2013. There is also a World Baseball Classic, but no one seems to care too much about that either. Like I said, there is no major international sporting event in 2013.
2/10/2010 8:16:13 PM
Winter >>> SummerI can't think of one event I watched this past Summer Olympics besides Phelps. And I only watched that once, only because of the hype. BAWWRRRRRRRING.Olympic Hockey (The best hockey, period)Skiing & SnowboardingBobsleddingSpeedskatingLike Slave said, you don't see this shit on TV, except during the Olympics.
2/10/2010 8:17:05 PM
the only winter olympic sports that I don't care to watch are the trick events like halfpipe and then the cross country skiing shit. I can watch most of the skiing events, curling, the speed skating, HOCKEY, and bobsledding all day. As far as the summer games I have zero interest in any of the track events, most of the field events, any of the judging sports. Only reason to watch any of the gymnastics is if the USA has a good chance to upset the chinese and russians.
2/10/2010 8:19:02 PM
Winter...Hockey rules

SummerBecause of basketball.
2/11/2010 9:53:54 AM
winter. summer olympics are for the most part boring. im usually outside doing something anyway during the summer. im usually indoors and can watch winter easier.luge/bobsled/skeleton is more exciting than watching some jamaican run in a straight lineski jump is more exciting than watching a guy run in a straight line jump over hurdlesspeed skating is more exciting than watching a guy run slow as hell around a trackhockey is more exciting than basketball(soccer is good in the summer olympics but its usually a crappier quality game with under 23's)figure skating and gymnastics are equally gayplus some of the downhill skiing events are fun to watchcurling is interesting for about 5 minutes. beats the pants off the 1 minute of interest i have in any marathon events or speedwalkingsnowboarding is always excitingthe short distance swimming events are cool in the summer, but winter blows the pants off summer
2/11/2010 10:10:30 AM
Summer>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>WinterI can watch just about anything in the summer games. Winter games I don't get excited about, but will watch some.
2/11/2010 2:51:52 PM

Usain Bolt outshines the entire winter olympics
2/12/2010 1:12:58 AM
I find it hard to enjoy the Olympics nowadays. I guess it's because I don't have cable, so I'm treated to two events for the entire Olympics.Summer:Endless track/swimming. Quarter finals, semi finals, finals. Then repeated with an additional 50m tacked on.Endless gymnastics. I'm sorry, but I don't really like sports where the judging is so subjective.Winter:Endless figure skating. Again, subjective. The major networks coverage for the past few Olympics has been especially terrible. They show a three or four hour block at the end of the day and just repeat that exact same block immediately afterward. When I was a kid they had events going all day, not just during prime time, and there was more variety. I understand how that model doesn't pan out in the cable era.Put me down for winter, just because as a kid I remember watching that event where they ski and take a break to shoot targets every once in a while. That was cooler than anything they did in the summer.[Edited on February 12, 2010 at 7:57 AM. Reason : -]
