"Is Wilson going to play football next year? That’s the million dollar question. I caught up with him before the State- Carolina game and flat out asked him, “Russell, are you playing football next year?” And Russell gave me the stock answer, “I plan on it.”"

That's not really very encouraging.

IMO the question of whether Archer is returning has a bigger impact on my expectations/hopes for next year, and that question has unfortunately been answered.

this was also the same interview where all three agreed that Wilson is better than Rivers was in college....

I like Avent, but he said some asinine things in that interview.

^Good thing for glennon is he'll get all the spring practice reps

Yeah, but this will undoubtably be RW final year (if he even plays at all). Glennon will still have two full years as the starter, and that's assuming Russell stays completely healthy.

Two years is more than Matt Sanchez got, and a hell of a lot more than Matt Cassell got.

With our schedule for next season, I much rather have RW behind center, with a much more efficient O-line, Glennon needs to learn our offense more, and the way Wilson has played since he's been here he deserves to start!

Glad your coming back RW! We would not blame you for leaving at the end of your jr. year for mucho baseball $$, most of us would do the same if we had the option!

How is that asinine?! Without a doubt russell was better as a sophomore than rivers was as a soph.

Phil threw a whooping 6 tds in 8 conference games tha year. Wilson threw 4 against carolina alone

^^ Mazzone didn't show up until PR's senior year. PR was disappointing as a sophomore - there's just no getting around it.

If this is true then you can all thank the Lion for Russell campaign. It's the mane reason he wants to come back.

really??

really?

"with our schedule" you want rw behind center?

you really prefer one of the best qb's in the acc/nation over an unproven red-soph??

really?

well i'm glad we got your input!

mike glennon should've transfered to unc a year ago.

then he could've looked like matt ryan as he wrecked our assholes this season and gone 10-3 or some bullshit while we go 4-8 more than likely.

Glennon, you'll get your shot when Russell is done, and us here at State and the alums are NOT ready for Wilson to be done yet!

Wilson did not do shit in the Pack's first two games (the games in which we scored 50 runs). Maybe he is still getting caught up with the rest of the players and will have a good season, but this year certainly did not begin that great for him.

Hopefully he plays football next year, and the next year. He's already a savior, a bonafide Golden-God, and he could be a NC State football legend (where's the Wilson Heisman trophy pic?)!!!1

but if his future is w/ baseball and that's what he wants to do, if/when the time comes, he should make the $s.

I'm kinda curious to see what Glennon, Proctor, & Brosius (& Imhoff) can do. Is Proctor still projected to be a qb?

I could be wrong but I've heard S/CB for this guy and that TOB really likes what Brosius brings to the table and he's fine with him and Glennon/Snotherly/Imoff.

He also dove for a fly ball in left field, didn't catch it and allowed A&T to go ahead. It didn't go down as an error, but it cost State the lead. Luckily the bats were alive and answered back with 5 in the 7th and 2 in the 8th.

^ I'd have to see the play before I could pass judgement there. Either way I am just glad the baseball team is playing well so far. Huge weekend coming up in terms of proving they are for real.
