How much money is the canadian goverment wasting on this thing? in a time of crises they could be cuttin taxes but instead its a handout to other governments coming to their country to skii and play other sports no one watches normally.

Apparently Lindsey Vonn has a shin injury that is pretty serious

She's on the Today show right now talking about it and she wanted everyone to know that in case she can't go in Vancouver.

^ That sucks. She was having a great run. If the pain continues she will definately not be in medal contention. They said she was in her room and put on her ski boots and the pain was unbearable. Not a good sign if your trying to put pressure on your shins while going downhill at 80+.

I don't really like sports where athletes go one at a time. Winter olympics seem to be full of them


team simultaenous>>individual head to head>> individual time trial= team trial>> team judge>> individual judge


so things like hockey, volleyball, basketball, soccer, relays and water polo are the best

things like any kind of race, boxing, tennis, and fencing are next

then things like long jump, ski jump, and ski time tirals

then things like bobsled

then things like team gymnastics, pairdiving, synchswimming, figure skating.

then the same things individual level with diving, equestrian and figure skating being maybe the least exciting

I'm pumped for the Olympics, but terribly disappointed for the opening ceremonies...

It was gonna be tough to follow up the commies (who were able to devote 10,000 people for an entire month to the show), but we put way too much emphasis on the first nations...

I'm all for appreciating the first nations and all... But just wanted to point out that the Chinese have a culture that is thousands of years old too, and well... they didn't just sit there hopping up and down with a stupid outfit on. They referred back to their ancient cultures in a respectful yet badass manner.
