I found a copy of the 2nd Edition and the 5th Edition in PDF. Will I survive without having the 4th Edition?

you'll be fine unless they assign problems out of the book, but that class is webassign, right?

even if they do assign book problems, just get them from a friend.

Yeah most of the time the only major difference in editions like that is the problems in the book will have different numbers. Just to ensure that you don't try and save some money.
