first gripe:they changed the fucking intro
1/10/2010 9:05:34 PM
I do like the old intro, but I like the new one and what it's representingother than that...I forgot a LOT about Season 3, so I was glad for the recap. As a season opener, everything felt really crazy and all over the place for me...but I'm glad they got right down to the drama.

yay someone posted in my thread i really wish i had watched the first 3 seasons over again before jumping into this season. mainly because, like you, i've forgotten so much stuff!i hope there's a deal on the Big Love seasons on DVD because i want to buy them soon.

i may stop watching this season
1/11/2010 9:25:39 PM
honestly, season 1 was awesome...but i feel like it has slowly gotten worse every season. it's like the plot is too developed for me, it's hard for me to follow.
1/12/2010 9:05:29 AM
ok, obviously this was a lack-luster season (or no one else watches it) cuz NO ONE has posted the entire season this was the worst season IMO, and i've slowly lost interest in this series. i'll watch it til it's over just because i've been watching from the beginning. but yea, it's gone downhill every year as far as i'm concerned.]

never got into this show.these people creep me the fuck out.
3/7/2010 11:24:31 PM
I thought it was actually a pretty decent season.. Did it seem short to anyone else?
3/8/2010 2:16:21 AM
Yup, this season was only 9 episodes. And they've only signed on for 10 episodes next season.
3/8/2010 8:33:14 AM
it started out to be the worst, but finally they got to what's been bothering me most about the series as a whole since the first season--fucking deal with the family issues already! last week being all about the family was the best episode since season 1.that said...Barb just rolls over every single time. Damn you Barb! And of course Amanda Seyfried is leaving the show. Good for her. They hadn't been using her as much and I def felt she was underused; she obviously did too and said as much in her pre-Oscar red carpet interview w/ Ryan Seacrest last night.
3/8/2010 11:53:06 AM
oh shucks, i didn't know she was really leaving
3/8/2010 11:53:56 AM
Yep--"moving to Portland"
3/8/2010 11:55:15 AM
yeah i mean, i know she said she was moving away in the show but i still thought they'd have her back on a few episodes "in town visiting" or whatever. especially since they made it a point for her character to gain back the friendship she had with that girl the last few seasons (from the fast food place) i can't remember any of their names

It got kind of insane at the end. Too many serious, complicated plot lines going on at once. And where were the kids? The younger kids didn't even appear on screen at all this season. For a family so committed to family values they never seem to spend any time with their young children.I guess this is where the show had to go though. People would get tired of seeing the wives try to shuffle school, child care, grocery shopping, and other day-to-day tasks every episode so the writers create darker and more complex situations.I still like the show but some of it was a reach near the end. Still more entertaining than most network TV (I think mainly due to the freedom and resources HBO has as a premium network) but not nearly as good as the first couple seasons.

^I thought the exact same thing! Look how many scenes involved Bill and all 3 wives AND the older children! Where were the babies?!?! ]
3/8/2010 12:20:44 PM
least Teensy finally came back"church camp"HA!
3/8/2010 12:21:19 PM
i'm fairly certain Teensy was played by a different red-headed girl this season
3/8/2010 12:22:09 PM
Yeah new Teensy is a brat. Not as good of an actor as the original IMO.
