I know this can be a controversal topic but its something that needs to be talked about. Ive seen a real deficency in the atmosphere at our games in this year and in the past couple years. i went to the first game this year because i had a free ticket from someone. things werent even sold out! how do you think that looked to the players on the first night? we showed no confidence in the team.look i know you think im trying to tear people down but really what i wish wed do is pump things up! ive thrown out some suggestions, but i know some of the rest of you are wolfpack club members and know what most nc state fans would want to get them out and get them pumped up. ive proposed some things from my own experience in promotion and sports and i have more ideas, but i think we should start a new project to make the best game environment to appeal to the most people and get them out. give the fans reasons to choose an nc state game. get fans in the stands. get them pumped. get them WINS, because atmosphere matters.

THE ATMOSPHERE SUCKS BECAUSE THE TEAM SUCKS![Edited on January 10, 2010 at 4:14 PM. Reason : free thread?]
1/10/2010 4:14:36 PM
i was at games in november of the past 4 years! we could not have known then. one thing that was in common: quiet fans, empty seats, boring games.
1/10/2010 4:16:58 PM
I suggest you find a way to get the team some wins, and then worry about the crowd. Last time I checked the Jesus Christ Center in Chapel Hill was empty as fuck during their little 8-20 run in 01/02.]
1/10/2010 4:17:41 PM
you dont beleive in inspiring your team? thats what we used to do. we had big time fans. look at all the big schools. all have big time pumped crowds. wear the colors proudly pack fans!
1/10/2010 4:19:22 PM
all the big time schools are winning fucking games.
1/10/2010 4:20:09 PM
this topic is not for talking about the team. its about everything off the court in the arena. thats the rule now.
1/10/2010 4:21:45 PM
I agree, you have to make money to spend money
1/10/2010 4:25:09 PM
This shtick is getting old.
1/10/2010 4:27:10 PM
look i just wanted to talk about getting hyped for games but now im getting really disapointed. doesnt anyone want to talk about making hyped up game atmosphere? the music? the promotions? the possible business side? we need a special section to discuss business in sports.
1/10/2010 4:28:55 PM
you know what would get the crowd hyped?if during introductions the players came out of the ground on lifts already in formation and run a sweet play to set the tone
1/10/2010 4:30:36 PM
we could show up in droves and be fan-fucking-tastic and we'll still suck the dick.
1/10/2010 4:31:57 PM
JAMMIN ON THE ONEJAMMIN ON THE TWO
1/10/2010 4:33:12 PM
the fans could all pull out there cocks when the opposing team is shooting free throws.
1/10/2010 4:36:42 PM
dont know why i'm even responding to this dude, butstpuid pump up videos, or gimmicks aren't gonna pump up the crowd and create a good environmentwinning= great game environmentlosing= shitty environmentwe as fans can't control these things

There's just too many things preventing us from implementing the SUPER WOLFPACK BASKETBALL INTRODUCTION BONANZA.1) We need to do introductions by having the players circled at mid-court. When their name is called, they start running towards the basket. They would each receive a bounce pass or alley-oop and finish with a monster dunk. This would get the crowd hyped. Problems: Some players can't dunk. Dennis Horner, who has the ability to dunk, would consistently brick his dunks off the back of the rim.Pros: Horner's ball that he bricked could be used by the next player introduced, since it will rocket in an airborne fashion to mid-court.2) We really need Lil Jon's classic to be piped through the speakers, with the crowd chanting, "GET LOWE! GET LOWE!" This would create an urban NBA atmosphere in a hockey arena.Problems: Sidney Lowe is too big to dance.Pros: The Charlotte Bobcats might play a preseason exhibition in the RBC Center if we played this type of music.3) Cheers for the day need to be printed and placed in each student section seat.Problems: "Two for the Wolfpack! Two for the Wolfpack!" and other idiotic chants would waste the paper.Pros: Increased awareness of male cheerleading. Many kids grow up wanting to play basketball, but after watching the abortion that we perform during the game will change their mind. We could have a national championship contender in our cheerleading team if we could recruit these type of athletes to the program.[Edited on January 10, 2010 at 5:17 PM. Reason : GET LOWE!!]
1/10/2010 5:16:44 PM
to the original poster - what are your suggestions? i don't see in any in this thread. you've diagnosed a problem, would be good to get your proposed solutions...
1/10/2010 5:22:16 PM
Here is the best solution. MOVE BACK TO REYNOLDS.
1/10/2010 5:27:19 PM
I agree, if more people would show up the team would make their free throws.
1/10/2010 5:31:07 PM
I would go if I could get a ticket to lower level, sideline, for less than 30 bucks per game ...At the end of the day, I aint paying money to a program that sucks, and has shown no improvement. Especially full price!
1/10/2010 5:46:45 PM
we could throw feces onto the court after each of our ACC losses
1/10/2010 5:55:05 PM
1/10/2010 5:55:38 PM
In an effort to make this a useful thread, does anyone know where I can locate the current ticket promotions for basketball games? Thought I saw something on the Jumbotron Saturday about donating ~3 books and getting a free ticket to the NCCU game on Jan. 30, but I can't find an updated list of promotional offers anywhere on the GoPack site
1/10/2010 6:00:20 PM
You don't know who was sponsoring the promotion do you? That has been the only way I could find those promotional tickets. I can pretty much always get tickets below face value from the people out front about 30 mins before game time.
1/10/2010 6:02:57 PM
we start jumping and then along with it go "ooooooooooooo" and get louder like "OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH" and then switch to "PACK! PACK! PACK! PACK! OOOOOO PACK! PACK! PACK! PACK! OOOOOOOOOOOO! POWER PACK! POWER PACK! BACK THE PACK!" and then play a loud rockin rap song or somethin. i think it would get things crazy.
1/10/2010 6:42:04 PM
1/10/2010 7:02:26 PM
i like HOOPS MALONEhe's OK in my bookgood intentions ITT
1/10/2010 7:04:25 PM
1/10/2010 7:24:02 PM
1/11/2010 2:56:54 AM
This catch phrase might be too aggressive for basketball. But during football season, Macho Man Randy Savage could appear in Wolfpack garb on the jumbo-tron, screaming "Snap into a [insert opponent's nickname]! OOOOH YEAAAAH!!!"
1/11/2010 4:08:23 AM
What do you mean we have a bad environment at games? Did they fire Mean Gene and Slappy?!?
1/11/2010 12:49:37 PM
i've maintained that we need to find a way to get fans downstairs to fill up the empty lower bowl seating. At least for OOC games.. ffs.make a PA announcement at halftime or something, also include a warning to fans moving that they should vacate any seats if the actual ticket holder shows.then, profit
1/11/2010 1:28:18 PM
and then play a loud rockin rap song or somethin. i think it would get things crazy.[Edited on January 11, 2010 at 1:38 PM. Reason : z]
1/11/2010 1:37:56 PM
General admission seating for students. Works for football
1/11/2010 7:17:35 PM
the first step in improving the environment would be to stop showing that goddamn video before introductions. the second step would be to have more people accept that the big vandy just so happens to be dandy, and should be named thusly.thirdly, one of my friends was thinking of old reynolds traditions to bring to RBC (since...it has NONE) and he came across how the technician used to have an article for each basketball game called...."the man"
1/11/2010 7:26:27 PM
1/11/2010 11:12:57 PM
I like that some of you contributed. The others need to leave it at the door. One of the most unique ideas for a crazy environment ive heared of is to use many different sort of props as a distraction for the otehr team. someone had a big "brick" at a game. Thats what we need! We need special branded NC State Pack Props, like different types of foam fingers and hands and statue things. And this sounds like a good idea too. To do the introductions and other exciting events witha live host. they do this at some professional games. a live host would need to be an entergetic pack fan who is multitalented at a number of entertainment types. they can promote sponsors and products between time outs, give props to the team during time outs, introduce the team, host halftime events, stuff like that. someone with a big presence. im just gonna go ahead and say im 6 foot 5 so yall know who i think should be that guy.
1/12/2010 9:41:02 AM
HOOPS, get us a good ole fashione POWER PACK! chant going in this thread.
1/12/2010 9:42:59 AM
its not a chant its more like a jump and rap sort of thinga rap would be like IF YOU WANNA KNOW WHERE IT AT HERE IT COMES HERE COMES THE PACK!
1/12/2010 9:44:48 AM
hell yeah! That's what I'm talking about!
1/12/2010 9:48:41 AM
Fuck Macho Man Randy Savage (jk Randy)lets get Hacksaw Jim Duggan to come out every game with a big 2x4
1/12/2010 9:31:40 PM
The crowd arrived later than they should have. If we'd been hyped from the start we could have turned the tide. We need to promote this.Come EARLYBe loud EARLYThat one basket you stop with your chatter and yelling early could be the game winning play!GO CRAZYThis is where a host comes in, constantly reminding people of this. We need a host to chat up the crowd and get people hyped along with the cheerleaders, not the marching band guys.
1/17/2010 7:49:15 PM
1/17/2010 7:52:25 PM
and it will keep us from stopping key baskets. the teams continued sucess depends on wearing the colors proudly and getting good players to play good. i know these things. i look it over all the time.
1/17/2010 7:53:39 PM
1/17/2010 9:02:50 PM
1/17/2010 9:09:00 PM
probably because roads and getting to the arena wasnt as good. consumers today expect different. if we want a good team or product on the floor we need to promote constantly. thats what i mean by wearing the colors proudly. have you studied business?
1/17/2010 9:21:55 PM
1/17/2010 9:24:43 PM
i agree HOOPS, it was a lot harder to walk to Reynolds than it was to drive to Blue Ridge then Trinity then park
1/17/2010 9:27:18 PM
we need to block off the top section unless its UNC or Duke
1/17/2010 9:34:05 PM
