Used to be such a great alternative. Anyone else notice how bloated its gotten lately? It really shouldn't use as much RAM as it does... come on now...

it seriously has some memory leaks or something.. i can leave it open for days and not do shit and it'll be taking up a gig of ram
1/7/2010 1:03:30 PM
^^^Its a fucking web browser. Its memory needs constantly grow. Its a fucking memory hog.^I agree, I think it has a memory leak too. I just hope they get back on track and don't let Firefox go...[Edited on January 7, 2010 at 1:04 PM. Reason : adsfadsf]

Did this really need its own thread?

Thread hijack:Has anyone noticed Firefox getting REALLY slow with Facebook chat open? I'm talking like 5-10 second delays between typing things and tabbing between windows.I switched to Chrome and it has run without a hiccup. It's just bizarre because normally Firefox runs without any issues.
1/7/2010 1:12:11 PM
Stop going to .ru websites and firefox will run faster.
1/7/2010 1:18:25 PM
you can always go back to Internet ExplorerhahahahahaAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
1/7/2010 1:33:20 PM
Firefox has always had memory leaks. It's not new at all.
1/7/2010 2:16:19 PM
works well for me
1/7/2010 2:24:42 PM
Chrome
1/7/2010 2:48:14 PM
If you aren't using Chrome or Safari you're doing it wrong.
1/7/2010 6:16:15 PM
Yeah, but I can't live without ABP. Too much stupid shit is posted on this website.
1/7/2010 6:24:09 PM
yep, i stopped using it as soon as chrome came outfirefox has become pretty bloated...takes too long to load initially, slow in general, ad-on management is a pain in the ass. on the last point im sure i could manage the notification options, but i can't get past the slowness.i still use it for a couple things, but it's chrome 95% of the time for me.^ chrome has extensions now]
1/7/2010 6:25:51 PM
Then I don't want to hear any shit when people say they won't use FF and still use Chrome and not the Beta for extensions and adblock. People at work don't need to be on TWW.

this thread is old, but i didn't want to create a new topic.anyone gone to firefox 4 beta?
8/31/2010 8:22:22 AM
nope, I stick with final releases.
8/31/2010 8:32:49 AM
Ever since 3.6, whenever I launched a page w/ embedded video in firefox = insta-crash in both Windows 7 and Ubuntu 10.04. Sadly, I had to switch to Chrome until they hopefully fix it in Firefox 4
8/31/2010 8:51:26 AM
why is this thread not locked already??topic=521132
8/31/2010 8:54:38 AM
Firefox 4 doesnt fix shit. It's the Mozilla team ripping off the Chrome UI and forcing 10 lbs of shit into a 5lb bag. Absolutely fucking terrible. Firefox is the new Internet Explorer.
8/31/2010 12:32:35 PM
and oddly enough Internet Explorer is starting to do it right; I'll probably ditch my old XP laptop for a Win7 machine around when IE9 comes out because it's just that fastI've used Opera as my main browser for 3 years and it's also handling Facebook better than ever

Seems like this pic could be the source of some very geeky but very funny captions
