Today (and only today) has my factory car alarm starting going batshit.

In 2 different locations (so I assume no one is screwing with the car), I was inside a house, car in the driveway, and the alarm just starts going off.

Its not the panic button getting hit, because my remote is broken. What gives? I don't want to be waking up at 4 a.m. to turn this off!

since honda only made cars for one year and one model, i'm sure this will be easy to diagnose

Same thing happened to me a few months ago.

Turned out my door latch screws were loose and it was letting my door "open" (even though it was pretty securely shut...) thus setting the alarm off.

Tightened the two latch screws and i'm good to go now.

this happened on my '95 legend. there was a sensor at the hood latch that went nutso and made the alarm think someone was breaking into the car all the time. i disconnected the sensor and went on my merry way.

How's your battery? Mine will randomly go off when the battery starts to deteriorate (Voltage falls below a certain threshhold and the alarm thinks that the battery is being disconnected). The cold over the last few days hasn't done any favors to car batteries.

I've also had the hood sensor fail, though not on a honda. Unplugged it and all was well.

Since it was today and today only, just wait until tomorrow. Shit should return to normal.

lo and behold, i was right. I woke up at 4:27am to that shit going off. I got up to go out and turn it off, but before I could get out of bed, it shut off.

No problems today though. Driving up to the mountains tomorrow, so I'm hoping nothing else decides to freak out.

AND THANK YOU SEX PENCIL
