OK- so I have an 04 1500 chevy silverado extended cab and on NYE I started having some electrical problems. The driver window doesn't roll down, the turn signals don't work, and when you try to turn the turn signals on, the light that indicates what driving mode it is in turns off (the 2WD, 4WD High, 4WD Low). Also, the interior lights don't work on the gauges or the interior overheads. Everything else still works (the gauges, the radio, the lights for those and on the mirror, etc...)

I checked fuses and the left turn signal and RT signal fuses for the trailer hitch were blown, but when I replaced them, nothing happened. I haven't found any other fuses that are blown, and I was wondering if anyone else had run into these problems or if they might know how to fix it. Plz help TWW!!!

Yup- didn't see anything that looked bad. Tomorrow I'm gonna go through every fuse and double check though

Yeah checking the fuses means actually checking them. No point in asking others for help until you can give good enough information. Might as well just ask Jesus when you say your prayers, or at least Google.

Well I had checked all the obvious and potential fuses, just not things that I didn't think would affect it. But so I don't have to be asking Jesus, I went ahead and checked all the rest and everything was fine, with the exception of a big silver fuse that isn't transparent and I don't know how to tell if it is good. It has a "25" rating on it but it is much larger than the standard blade fuses.

Also, today I noticed that the cruise control does not work, but did notice that the mirror adjuster and seat heaters (both sets of controls on the door) do work

take a multimeter and make sure you get a resistance across the fuse terminals. if it's blown, it won't read anything.

[Edited on January 3, 2010 at 7:56 PM. Reason : what i mean is pull the fuse and put the multimeter leads across the fuse]
