anyone know if tire places just throw them away or what they do with them? looking some(lots) of lead and trying to figure out the deal and if that is an easy way to get some.

They're collected for recycling with the car batteries... couldn't hurt to just ask someone at a tire shop.

most all tire places have some one who comes around and collects the buckets full of weightsgo to discount tire and ask if you cant buy a box of old ones though.

you can usually find some on craigslist. i have a 5 gallon bucket full that i use to make fishing tackle.

at the shops that i visited, they sold them to a recycler or someone would pay them the going rate for it.
