Yeh at the pharmacy. Behind the counter in the pharmacy section. They have all different sizes and gauges and would be able to special order them from their wholesaler as well if needed. I used to do it a lot when working at CVS.

^^ I'm curious, how much shit do you have to give people before they can buy syringes?
12/29/2009 7:32:25 PM
my friend is a pharmacist and tells me ab addicts coming in for them all the timethere is no shit giving. my understanding is you ask for them and you get them

If you pay for them, I don't see why they should care what you do with them (unless you're injecting people with poison or something ). Better an addict use clean needles than who knows what from the street.

Yeah, I was just wondering. Seems like I saw an article or something a few years back about how some states try to make it a pain to get syringes.

i guess it could depend on the statefor the record when my friend told me ab this she was working in illinois
12/29/2009 9:57:06 PM
well it dependsdo you need them with or without the needles?

I buy them at the local feed store to vaccinate dogs and livestock.

I recommend insulin syringes in 1cc, with a 27 gauge needle. should have them at the local pharmacy.

Like everyone else has already told you, just ask the pharmacist for them. If you don't need the needles, they're easy peasy. Please dispose of them properly. If you have to ask this question, I'm going to assume that you do not own a sharps box.[Edited on December 30, 2009 at 2:43 PM. Reason : .]

You could go to some type of non-chain pharmacy. I've found that it's easier to get things like this from the small stores than places like CVS.

If you don't have a sharps box, use an old bleach or laundry detergent bottle. If you don't have that, then use the cover for the syringe to bend the needle back and either remove the plunger or bend the needle in half (back and forth) until the plunger breaks to render the needle unusable and safe. This generally only works on smaller needles, like insulin syringes that I use.

I think I'll just leave it at the playground down the street

In IL syringes are rx only. This encourages needle re-use instead of discouraging drug use like it's supposed to. In NC you can walk into any pharmacy and ask for syringes at the counter. I get them at CVS when I give vaccines because theirs are generally higher quality than the feed store ones. I don't want to use a dull needle on my cat. I never got any crap from the pharmacy, but I used to work for a vet and know what I want so I'm not just walking in and asking for needles. The biggest problem is that some of the pharmacies only keep 1cc in stock, and some others only want to sell 3cc by the box.
