hey everyone, just would like to let you all know about a volunteer organization I work with that repairs cars for local single moms and those in need of getting to work reliably. I've been with them for a few years and its great to volunteer and get experience working on cars at the same time. I have to say I have learned quite a bit from the older d.i.y. guys and mechanics there. It's called Wheels4Hope and its located off of Poole Rd. in downtown Raleigh. here's the site: http://www.wheels4hope.org/ we always need mechanics, regardless of skill level, always meet on the 1st and third Saturdays of each month from about 9am-5pm. Just something to think about

Hm. Might be a good way to get my hands dirty, learn a few things, and mostly gain the experience I've been wanting/looking for...

I support single mothers in the more traditional sense... by seeing how well they can climb a pole and not plant their face in the stage.
