This has gotta be one of the best "tv" shows espn has ever done. holy cow.
12/12/2009 9:36:15 PM
tilt was awesome they shoulda brought it back playmakers was pretty good too
12/12/2009 10:08:55 PM
fuckers didn't mention that 35-7 Sugar Bowl beat down by Tennessee that kept Miami from winning the National Championship in the 1985 season
12/12/2009 10:17:34 PM
post it in the anti-tennessee media bias thread
12/12/2009 10:19:04 PM
they prob wont show alabama whoopin that ass in the national championship game for 1992 season either
12/12/2009 10:34:58 PM
^ that is easily my top non-Tennessee sports related memory ever
12/12/2009 10:40:35 PM
i was young but i remember watching that game on tv. still remember vividly george teague running down lamar thomas right before he scores a TD and takes the ball out of his hands then turns around and heads off in the other direction.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kx1AZSeCkkM[Edited on December 12, 2009 at 10:44 PM. 12/12/2009 10:43:33 PM
with my dad being a Bama fan it was huge, loved it... everyone at school was talking shit for Miami, I was the only one among my friends that wanted Bama to win and I picked them... twas the birth of the Lord of the Lines
12/12/2009 10:48:06 PM
the first segment really did a good job of showing how miami changed college football forever and integrated hip hop into sports all while uniting a city that was like current day baghdad.
12/12/2009 10:49:30 PM
man, Lamar Thomas hasnt grown up a bit... what a dick
12/12/2009 10:51:57 PM
if there was one city i could shove into my butthole and shit out onto a bonfire, it would be miami.
12/12/2009 10:52:16 PM
ahaha they did skip right over that and mention butch davis trying to clean up the hurricanesok howard shnellinidiot...longest, best dynasty since WWII...alabama in the 60s and 70s may have something to say about that...along with USC too[Edited on December 12, 2009 at 10:59 PM. Reason : g]
12/12/2009 10:55:24 PM
none of those other teams won THE WAY miami did. no team ever in anything did. It would be like putting team usa into college basketball and throwing allys to lebron and kobe all day.
12/12/2009 11:02:08 PM
really? bama had somewhere around 6 or 7 titles in the 60s and 70s. the polls F'd bama out of some other possible titles in the past but i cant remember if any of those were from that era.
12/12/2009 11:05:34 PM
Miami isnt even the best all time program in Florida

First...that 10 year run they had was ridiculous. 4 titles in 10 years says something. They had maybe one average year in that span. Nobody is saying they have one of the top programs ever...they are just saying that one span was one of the best runs for a program ever...and it was.And plenty of teams have had dominant eras...but Miami changed the game. And they didn't change it by the way the actually game was played...i.e., they didn't usher in the option offense, or the forward pass, or some new defensive scheme...they changed the style of the game. The celebrations, the swagger, etc. You see it everywhere now. There isn't a team that does it as much as Miami did as a team back then (FSU tried to afterwards, and to a certain extent they did...fuck, Amato tried to bring it to State when he was here), but individually, it's everywhere.I don't see how you can argue with anything in that "documentary."
12/12/2009 11:25:32 PM
and thats why no one outside of miami likes them.
12/12/2009 11:27:47 PM
Meh...I don't dislike them. If I was a little older during that era, then I guess there's a possibility I would have disliked them like everyone else did. But I loved FSU growing up when they were dominant because of their swagger and the way they played...but I despise teams like Florida now.
12/12/2009 11:37:04 PM
I missed it. Airing again?
12/12/2009 11:38:26 PM
I wonder how loud the "Fuck Miami" chant sounded on TV when they had Gore and HesterThat was the loudest I have ever heard Carter Finley
12/12/2009 11:39:09 PM
12/12/2009 11:41:13 PM
florida now is dominant but they arent swagger like fsu and miami were so I dont see how you're drawing that comparison. florida is a "classy" program like unc bball.
12/13/2009 12:17:39 AM
Where are the Tennessee and Bama documentaries, bitch?
12/13/2009 12:20:04 AM
5 national championships in 20 years. It's all about the U.6 if that asshat Terry Porter swallows his whistle on a fourth down play that decides the 01 national championship game. Pass interference my ass.
12/13/2009 12:31:30 AM
why would anyone want their school to be known as a thug university?...if nc state were running around like a bunch of idiots on the field and startin fights during games and constantly in trouble with the law, i could never pull for them.MTV, Yo aliases unite![Edited on December 13, 2009 at 12:33 AM. nobody cares as long as theyre winning football games.
12/13/2009 12:33:20 AM
i think a lot of people around these parts would care more than you think...id like to think people of north carolina arent quite as scummy as miami-ers
12/13/2009 12:34:53 AM

12/13/2009 12:35:38 AM
boy when i think about nc state basketball all i think about is how similar they are to miami football's thug u!and anyway, how arent you suspended yet?[Edited on December 13, 2009 at 12:39 AM. Reason : f]

12/13/2009 12:44:41 AM
i dont remember anyone busting up here saying florida was a clean program...im done here. arguing with aliases is so fucking pointless
12/13/2009 12:46:53 AM
^What is there to argue about?Miami is the most interesting college football program in history. That's why the documentary happened. 5 National Championships.Sorry.

I guess off the field is a different story but i was talking on the field which is why I said "classy" and not classy. florida doesn't pick fights, dance, celebrate or any of that on the field.[Edited on December 13, 2009 at 10:33 AM. I hate the term "swagger". It excuses unsportsmanlike play.
12/13/2009 11:01:39 AM
the thing i found most surprising was the dancing and all that at the end of a touchdown. i was relatively young then and didn't follow football like i do now, but that was amazing to see in college football.

Did anyone else get the "Fuck Butch Davis" vibe at the end?
12/13/2009 1:07:02 PM
^^ there are plenty that are unique.. you dont have to be "bad boys" to be interesting to anyone above the age of 12... Hell, currently GT is more "unique" than just about any fucking team in the BCS conferences. Northwestern teams of 95-96 were just as unique, Boise State, etc.
12/13/2009 1:35:41 PM
The U was a great one...this and the Wayne Gretzky 30 for 30 are definitely my two favorites. I loved Michel Irvin"There was no media bias, there was no conspiracy.... we were some bad boys, and we LOVED being bad boys."

12/13/2009 5:48:54 PM
no, I didnt... I said they were close and that the last few years pushed Florida ahead... so, if we had this same argument in 1990 the decade of the 80s would have Miami ahead, but thats not just looking at the 80s.and if you play in the SEC you deserve not to play hard schedules OOC[Edited on December 13, 2009 at 5:54 PM.
