didn't nash win two mvps? i don't see how you can keep him off the first team
11/29/2009 2:38:46 PM
because Kidd was better than NashNash was greatly aided by rule changes, or at least a change in the interpretations of rules, that tolerated much less physical contact[Edited on November 29, 2009 at 3:12 PM. Reason : ...]

yao over shaq?I don't like shaq but come on????????
11/29/2009 4:09:38 PM
My thoughts exactly.Shaq does have 4 championships this decade (3 if you don't count the 99-00 season).
11/29/2009 4:12:24 PM
The truly dominant Shaq was done by 04-05. If you want to do a Best of the 90s then Shaq would easily make Second Team. Yao was the best offensive center of the decade, other than Duncan.
11/29/2009 4:21:55 PM
so what he did for half the decade doesnt count?
11/29/2009 4:24:31 PM
isn't duncan almost exclusively a power forward?

shaq>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>yao....i hate the nba and only follow it off and on during season and a bit more during playoffs, but from what i saw shaq won more/played more/scored more/defended more/did everything more than yao.

prob about the same amount who give a fuck about your dumbass opinionyou are mentally retarded if you think yao was better than shaq this decade[Edited on November 29, 2009 at 5:06 PM. Reason : but you are prob another one of these ST trolls who jack off to any kind of attention you get]
11/29/2009 5:05:12 PM
you sir are about as smart as a bag of hammers.if you want to do this just by offense production shaq averaged 20.9 ppg during the '00. Yao on the other hand has averaged 19.757 per game. That's not counting the seasons that he did not play. If we average in those seasons as zeros (which they should be if we are talking about who is the best for the decade) his average is 12.57.Also there is no way that Kidd is better than Nash
11/29/2009 5:46:48 PM
Tim Duncan is not a center. Nash has been much better than Kiddthread=failand i am not better than Shaq[Edited on November 29, 2009 at 6:16 PM. Reason : .]

Here's the real listFirst TeamGuard - Steve NashGuard - Kobe BryantForward - Kevin GarnettForward - Tim DuncanCenter - ShaqSecond TeamGuard - Jason KiddGuard - Dwyane WadeForward - LeBron JamesForward - Dirk NowitzkiCenter - Yao Ming

You could argue that Kidd was better than Nash in the sense that Kidd played in a couple NBA Finals...of course you have to factor in that the Nets came out of the East, which at that time was a weaker conference...and that Phoenix got hosed in that one series versus the SpursBut Shaq > Yao
11/29/2009 6:56:27 PM
yea I don't really mind the kidd over nash, in fact I might agree with that one
11/29/2009 8:22:36 PM
I agree with AndyMac's list
11/29/2009 8:29:34 PM
Duncan, KG, and Kobe are no-brainers. Shaq is close to a no brainer.LeBron deserves to make first team over Kidd and Nash, but if you want a true PG I would go with Kidd since he plays defense.
11/29/2009 8:45:09 PM
Some guy named Allen Iverson feels left out.He just broke Jordan's ankles and then jumped over Nash and dunked it.Also Tracy McGrady and Vince Carter were pissed, but then they figured hey, I'm getting my paycheck so who cares. Finally, the entire Pistons team of the 00s just did the Dragonball fusion dance and demanded honorable mention for best team.]

Kidd was obviously better than Nash for the decade it's just silly to argue otherwise.Nash won MVP's because it was cute to vote for a white guy. He's great to watch but the guy gives up easy baskets on defense and his numbers were unbelievably inflated by the system. He likely wasn't a top ten player in the league for either of his MVP's.Nash on 2nd team is fine, but Kidd clearly better especially in the first half of the decade when Nash was just average.Shaq over Yao is a no-brainer he dominated the first half of the decade and was productive for the second half. Yao was a defensive liability for most of the decade and hasn't even won a playoff series. This was a bad argument. I'd move Duncan over to PF, Shaq to first team center and slip Dirk off the first team since it's absurd to put him over Lebron anyway. Pierce falls off the 2nd team of course.Duncan has won championships with David Robinson at Center, Nazr Mohammed at Center, and Oberto? (not sure about that one).... He's a PF based on the criteria here.[Edited on November 30, 2009 at 12:16 AM. Reason : a]

Great scorer. Great competitorF: Dirk Nowitzki - Really consistent over the whole decadeC: Tim Duncan - Got bumped to center because he can play there and to make room for PierceHonorable Mention - Chris Paul, Chauncey Billups, Dwayne Wade
