built for speed, not for looks haha
11/24/2009 11:34:34 AM
built for speed, not for worry free motoring haha
11/24/2009 11:48:48 AM
gonna need more than a cone filter for some speed in that truck
11/24/2009 11:56:20 AM
What are you talking about? Those Accel spark plug wires are like forty five dollar bucks at Autozone and they always bring the speed.I like the gross use of electrical tape on the alternator wiring and something else (bottom right hand corner of the pic.) And the power wire running through the weather stripping at the cowl is classy too.lol, j/k...I've done far far worse. I think most garage regulars have. [Edited on November 24, 2009 at 12:53 PM. those are FRPP spark plug wires, this engine bay is of a 1989 Lincoln Town Car
11/25/2009 12:44:37 AM
not an engine.
11/25/2009 12:47:01 AM
that looks like its converting energy into work
11/25/2009 1:02:28 AM
thats a god damned motor, not an engine
11/25/2009 1:16:08 AM
looks like a washing machine motor turned buffer to me
11/25/2009 7:16:59 AM
Just took it. It's getting there... I've cleaned up the engine bay a little here and there. I need to go back and polish those valve covers and go ahead and do away with the pop up headlights and install some HIDs... [Edited on November 26, 2009 at 7:02 PM. Reason : .]
11/26/2009 7:01:12 PM
polished valve covers and HID's = LOL RICER
11/26/2009 7:32:02 PM
actually, wouldn't it be Krauted? But no seriously. I've got the whole "can't see shit" at night with these underpowered 45w or so headlights... HIDs are a necessity.
11/26/2009 7:36:32 PM
to do it right is going to cost more then the car though..... you plan to blind the rest of us?
11/26/2009 7:38:05 PM
944 bucket lights+Hella 90mm Low Beam Headlight+Phillips HID Kit=Well, fucking awesome.I plan on getting it done right.
11/26/2009 7:48:32 PM
you just need some blue tinted fog lights and you will be fully equipped
11/26/2009 7:50:10 PM
pop up headlights are the shit. how dare u. i've owned 4 cars with em
11/27/2009 9:34:55 AM
I'd instead get some european Bosch buckets, with a bit higher wattage bulbs, and wire them directly to the alternator with relays. The lighting improvement is quite dramatic, and you won't blind anyone. It has the side benefit of not being ricer.
11/27/2009 10:43:50 AM
only thing that's really changed is the air filter. i measured out the clearance I had and installed one significantly bigger.
11/27/2009 11:15:09 AM
^ is that a 93-95 RX-7?
11/28/2009 3:27:59 AM
It is an 88. There are many differences between the 93+ and the 87-91 turbo models:There's a lot less room in a 93+ engine baythe intake manifold is shaped differently (longer runners, smaller plenum)the coilpacks are in a different place (under the manifold)the radiator is raked forward instead of uprightthe belt system and accessories are different (serpentine belts)the IACV is mounted on the back of the plenum instead of on the runners the crank position sensor is mounted to the pulley instead of installed like a distributorthe throttlebody is larger and the throttle/cruise cables route differentlythe intercooler is behind the radiator instead of on top of the manifold with a scoop (FMIC here though)and the list goes on... it's a bunch of little things[Edited on November 28, 2009 at 9:51 PM.
