I've got it posted on CL for $15. If one of you people will promise to come take it off my hands immediately, it's...ten dolla! I just got a chest freezer, and it's going to go where the fridge is.

No pictures...I'm busy with other stuff today.

The catch?
1) It's dusty and dirty
2) It's a fucking power hog. In 5.5? 6? days, it's used 123kWh.

Yeah

I've been wondering how the hell we were using so much damn energy, and started plugging various suspects into a killawatt.

This thing accounts for about half of our previous usage

I guess none of yall will take it for free, then, either

^ this thing should cost about $40 per year in electricity. I highly recommend that you take a look at the connections and make sure there is no problems with it shorting out. Check the compressor as well.

^^Yeah. It's worth listening to ^ and anyone else weighing in on this, with respect to its energy usage and related concerns.

Yes, those microfridges should be using about $35 a year. I would know. I work for central maintenance and have seen the energy consumptions by these units. They are excellent units though!!! Something electrical is wrong with this unit and would be worth checking out if you really needed a small fridge.

how on earth can you determine how much energy it should be using, she never posted a make or model or anything about it?

it might have a leak in it that makes it so the fridge has to continuously work hard to keep the temp constant inside of it. not to mention it is gonna use a lot of power anyway if it is fairly empty.

[Edited on November 22, 2009 at 10:40 AM. Reason : or it could be normal like shredder said. lol]

^no, they are not:
http://www.google.com/products?q=dorm+fridge&aq=f

"dorm fridge" != a specific make and model. It refers to a style/size of refrigerator.

Btw, this isn't the make/model that's provided in the dorms these days. Going by the horrible dark fake wood veneer on the front of the door, I'd put it somewhere in the 80s

The newer ones Energy Guides says $40 per year...but if this is going in a dorm, it doesn't matter much because they don't pay power.
