So my computer got infected with this annoying shit. Can someone provided me with a link that will show me how to get rid of it. I am using my wife's mac now and everything I search for tells me to install some tool to remove it, and I'm not doing that.

Thanks

Download Malwarebytes. It will get 99% of this shit. Also a combination of Spybot, Malwarebytes, Hijackthis, and Superantispyware will usually get it too. Oftentimes these malware programs will kill your ability to download them from the net, so you will need to put the install and the updated definition files on a USB drive and hope it doesn't block the install.

To do it manually is damn near impossible. You would have to find all of the places that it has replicated on the HDD, delete them, and then go through regedit looking for any anomalies, which will often be quite a few. I only go manual when I can't get the install to work. If you look under Current Users>Software>Microsoft>Windows>Run and do the same thing with Local Machine>Software>Microsoft>Windows>Run you can find the programs that are loading on startup, but that will not wipe it off, just maybe stem the tide of them running on OS boot.

Again the best way to do it is download Malwarebytes, let it do a scan, and when your done you can uninstall it.

^^ This.

You'll probably have to boot into safe mode if possible. You may need to install it and updates from a burned CD as newer versions of this are now actually blocking network connections to malwarebytes.org. You will probably need to rename mbam.exe to mbam.com to get it to run. Also, let the dialogs that the virus pops up stay open on your screen just push them off to a corner. It seems like you can get past the viruses attempts to stop malware bytes by letting the dialogs remain.

And once you're done with all that, assuming it cleans everything up... you need to replace your AV software. Go over to microsoft.com and download Windows Security Essentials. If your AV software let something through and it's causing you this much of a headache, dump it for something that's more effective and free.

^^Truth. Safe Mode is your friend, if you can access it. Problem is, some of these things will not even let you boot into safe mode. It will hang the computer on the safe mode load. That's a real bitch.

Also if you don't want a MS AV suite, you can do AVG free as well. That one does really good, but so does Security Essentials.

I got some ridiculous combination of viruses the other day on my desktop. They disabled regedit, control panel, task manager, shut a bunch of services down including wireless, blocked several programs from running. Malware Bytes fixed just about everything except this huytebesy4ko hijack, which I can't seem to find a fix for outside of Spyware Doctor (combofix doesn't seem to want to run).
