So, I thought for a second I'd post a public service announcement:I know when I was doing a lot of webassigns, my biggest complaint was that I'd simply forget to do some assignments because I didn't ever put them on a calendar, and I'd end up forgetting and racking up zeroes.Recently I heard some people complaining of the same problem, and I just wanted to alert people that there is a service in WebAssign that allows you to set up email reminders of approaching due dates. When you log in, there should be an option for 'Notifications' in the top right corner of WebAssign. Open that popup, and you can choose how long before the assignment is due you want to be notified.I think its pretty helpful. You can also set up notifications to be sent if a due date is changed and a few other options. You may have to verify your email before you can use the service, but it should be pretty self explanatory.

I'm sure such a service would be useful. But honestly, it is YOUR responsibility to keep track of when assignments are due. You failing to write then down in a date book is your own failing, not the failing of webassign or others. You're an adult now (or at least you're suppose to be), take responsibility for when your shit is due and bite the bullet when you still fail to get it done. Do you expect your teachers to give you email reminders for all other kinds of assignments? If not, then why do you expect webassign to do it?And be totally honest; even if you got an email reminding you to do your homework, are you going to go ahead and get it done or will you just wait until an hour before the submission deadline?

Well sure, that's true enough. But sometimes with odd times the assignment is due, like at midnight, sometimes you can get confused about when exactly its due. Or if an instructor changes a due date and you don't notice. I'm just saying this service exists to help people that aren't the most organized. Also, you can set it up to send your professors announcements when they post them, when they reply to your help request, grant an extension, etc. Sometimes people don't log into WebAssign every day to check.

Don't pay attention to these luddites. There's nothing wrong with letting technology take care of some things for you. These dumbasses probably hand write letters in caligraphy, and refuse to buy printed books because... We're adults now and we have to take responsibility to write things by hand for ourselves.

outlook (or google calender) reminds me of due dates, without those i would forget about thing. i think more useful than reminders would be if they had a way to sync your assignment calender to icalendar/google/outlook
