when I am using my ipod (via cassette connection) in my car the speakers only sound good out of the left side. sound does come out of the right side but not to the point that you can even hear it. any ideas as to what that could be?the speakers work fine with the radio.

your cassette adapter likely has a means of adjusting its head alignment. I'd bet that the head's alignment is off.

get a proper adapter, cassette tech is like 30 years old.

mcangel, what do you suggest? my radio does not have a port to connect in the front or back and the radio tuner never seems to get a good connection.

just see if the adapter you have has the adjustment tab on it first. If not, go get another one...they're cheap as hell. If that doesn't work, get you a decent RF adapter.

^ i agree.....check your fade/bal adjustments....a simple adjustment could change your entire radio setting...

Fuck a cassette adapter unless you actually listen to cassettes still.Just pull the head from the tape deck, disconnect the wires going to it, and connect a 1/8" stereo input to them. Feed your new 1/8" stereo input out the cassette hole and call it an "Aux Input".Yes, this does work. I once wired a walkman to a home stereo using this method when the tape deck on the home stereo stopped turning due to a mechanical problem.

wtf kinda pos do you drive with a tape deck, spend $50 and put a cheap aftermarket head unit in with an aux input, i got one form wally world for the boat for about $40 that works just fine, and it even had a usb charger output for and mp3 player

They are starting to carry Dual digital media recievers at Advance Auto stores now, I think they are $40.

its probably a bad adapter...I've had this happen before.and cassette adapter > rf adapter^^my 2002 RSX type S had a tape deck + 6 disc in-dash changer...also I believe my 2005 STI had a tape deck with a 6 disc in-dash changer...its not that uncommon in non-pos cars[Edited on November 15, 2009 at 10:52 PM. Cassette adapters say a lot about their users. "Hello I am affluent and savvy enough to buy and operate a digital music storage and playback device, yet incapable of finding an appropriate solution for interfacing this device with the stereo in my primary source of transportation."

yes because buying an adapter for a few bucks is dumb vs. buying a new head unit just to listen to an ipod in the car.
