so does everything else work on xbox live (i.e. can i use netflix) except for in-game play?
11/9/2009 7:31:41 PM
Not if it's been banned (which he says it has been) - it won't connect to live at all.
11/9/2009 7:46:03 PM
nah, doubt netflix will work, haven't tried. i know all the games work though.

I'm not that familiar with modded 360's. Does this firmware ever need to be updated to continue to play backed up games? If not, I'll go $50 on it since it has no Live connectivity. This will work nicely in the spare bedroom.[Edited on November 9, 2009 at 7:59 PM. Reason : ]

I thought Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 wasn't released until tomorrow...

no...firmware does not need to be updated to continue playing backed up games. iXtreme 1.6 works for all backups created

$60 assuming I can still use it as a Windows Media Extender. I assume I will not be able to stream Netflix on it though.Does anyone know if that will work (connected to the network for MCE... just not logged into a profile)?
11/9/2009 10:49:51 PM
MCE will work but you can't play videos that require the xbox media update

$50 is fine with me (no controller). first person to get in touch with me gets it. just PM me for cell #. i'll drop it off to you or you can come pick it up. i'll be online the next couple hours so get up with me if interested

Aww dude, what the heck. Wish I would've seen your message.
11/10/2009 5:12:20 PM
what a fucking deal if that went for $50.
11/10/2009 6:18:51 PM
sorry guys...needed the cash to cover the new console i got. i can mod 360's too if you're interested! as long as you're not an idiot like myself and play games that aren't stealth guarded (Modern Warfare 2 ) you have nothing to worry about as far as getting banned. I'll do it cheap too, just PM me if interested. I can also fix "red ring of death" too, but that takes a little more work...but will do it much cheaper than the $115 that microsoft charges.
11/10/2009 8:58:00 PM
it went for a little more than $50...but he still got a steal

unfortunately what you said about not worrying about being banned is NOT true... even if you don't play any illegal games at all, microsoft can now check to see if your system is using modded firmware and can ban you for that. The latest system update they made you do was specifically for that. The last ban wave that has started was checking for this. Mine was banned and i've never played a game at all before it was released, and i always ran it through ABGX. I was reading up on the forums and it's been confirmed that microsoft can detect the firmware and you can be playing perfectly legit games and still get banned. People are working on this to see if there is a way around it, but this could be a big issue if true

i was about to offer 100.

just so everyone knows, consoles that were recently banned didn't simply get "banned", they were added to a console revocation list. this list is stored and updated on the console's internal memory somewhere, and is also put onto retail discs with updated lists. basically what that means is you will NOT be able to play any legit games that have a CRL.bin that includes the console id for the xbox. also, installing games to the harddrive is disabled and saves made on that xbox will be seen as corrupted data if they are used on a different xbox.
