I remember it happening, my parents being all tore up about it. Well, not exactly tore up, but just like, "DAMN." I was 5, and I remember it crazy well. Really was a very monumental moment in sports history, I'd say.

Did not know his little brother got killed 4 years later. That's terrible




In a semi-tangent. . .did anyone else cry when Hank Gathers died? I remember that day really, really well. I was actually following any basketball I could at that point.

Watching it right now.

Thought it was interesting when Michael Wilbon, said that Bias was pretty close to Jordan's skill set.

Think how good the Celtics would have been with him on that team also?

i think Gathers died in the early 90s...I remember Bo Kimble shooting like 23/27 or something from the line left handed as tribute

yeah, Gathers was 90, if i'm not mistaken. I know it was right around when I was really getting into basketball, and I remember my first big game I was really into was that Jordan v Ehlo game. That was 89, right?

I really enjoyed that special. Crazy to think how good the Celts would have been, and it was good to learn about all of the controversy surrounding the whole ordeal.

i got real sad when hank gathers died as well, i still feel it whenever i see someone mention it in a special or see a clip of bo kimble shooting free-throws.

i actually had an incident a couple years ago blacking out on the court and it freaked me out so bad. i was having a lot of weird problems with my heart that year.
