I guess its what you would call a 'higher end' wax, I am wondering if any of you have ever used it on anything and how was it? I see they have a Concours-look Carnuba Wax and also a 100% Carnuba Wax - what's the difference? I thought I read somewhere once that even if a wax claimed 100% carnuba that it was actually impossible for that to be the case, that it would be super expensive and hard as hell to work with? How about the high end Zymol waxes- anyone used them? I mean the $40/jar ones, not the auto parts store ones. I have a project that I will be detailing soon and it has single stage paint, these waxes should be good for that right?[Edited on November 2, 2009 at 3:39 PM. Reason : dfdssdf]

I've used P21S and S100. I still use S100. I dont know what the difference is beyond the name ( i didnt notice any FWIW). The nice thing about s100 is its easy to apply and wont ruin/haze the rubber trim that it gets on. The bad thing is it doesnt last long. You can buy P21S locally at ray price harley. I've never used the p21s 50$ 100% carnuba wax or any Zymol product.

100% carnauba implies that there are no additives like abrasive compounds or silicones in it...and no, a wax would be a genuine bitch to apply if it were nothing but carnauba...so what you are reading is 100% carnauba exclusive of solvent.Even Mothers California Gold, as brickbat hard as it is, contains some solvent to aid in application. You'll notice that the layer on top turns almost white...that's where the solvent has evaporated away.Any other wax that is called a cleaner/wax or likewise contains a fine abrasive to remove oxidation. The clearcoat waxes may contain a grade of abrasive such as Tripoli which is very fine, whereas others may contain a red or Rouge compound for more aggressive cutting action.

P21s and S100 are the same thing. Their concourse wax is a great wax IMO, but durability sucks. Maybe a month at the most, and thats stretching it. The P21s 100% is another really really good wax, but durability also suffers.Zymol, IMO, not worth the money until you get into the $150 + waxes. If you are looking for some different options, head on over to http://www.autogeek.net and check out their Carnuba collection. Poorboys Natty's Red, Collinite 915, Detailers Pride Max Wax, Pinnacle Souveran and others are all really good waxes that could look as good if not better than anything from P21's.FWIW, as long as the wax is applied to a properly prepped surface (IE: defect free) anything will look good. Duragloss #105 is Zaino Z-5 Pro and is available at your local napa and it looks great!

zaino. 'nuff said.

I used P21S when I had the S2k. Good stuff...lasted a long time. A little cheaper than the Zaino Bros equivalent iirc. Work in small sections though or it will be a bitch to remove.I'm a bigger fan of P21S wheel cleaner though. That stuff breaks down brake dust like magic. Great for spraying down the lug nuts and being able to just wash away the buildup between washes.

Ive got the toughest brake dust known to man on my Range Rover, cant wait to try the gel P21S wheel cleaner... got my fingers crossed.
11/2/2009 9:28:20 PM
if you wash your car like you know something and dont let the brakes get metal on metal, you dont need that expensive crap.
11/2/2009 9:37:59 PM
its what you might call a USED CARaka PRE-OWNED
11/2/2009 10:14:51 PM
I see what the lazy detail boys didn't do then my bad.
11/3/2009 7:39:39 AM
More like what the old geezer who owned it before didn't do
11/3/2009 8:14:20 AM
Well then good luck. not that anyone gives a shit but if like to see a before and after set of pictures.

P21s wheel cleaner is good, but will not take care of "stubborn" wheels. Poorboys Spray and Rinse or Meguiars Wheel Brite (available at majestic solutions) would be a much better alternative, although you may only need one application and with regular washing, you shouldnt need it anymore. If you are willing to drive to Yougsville, I can give you some Wheel Brite FWIW.
11/3/2009 10:12:26 PM
im talking baked on brake dust
11/3/2009 10:38:34 PM
Then P21s wont touch it.Like I said, I can give you some Wheel Brite and thats about the only thing for really really terrible brake dust.
11/3/2009 10:52:23 PM
at what point dust hot metal flake fuck up a wheel?
11/3/2009 11:15:21 PM
what? damn will, take 2 seconds and PROOFREAD bro.
11/3/2009 11:34:33 PM
I was thinking dust and typed completely different. my bad.fuck. but no really ive never had/washed a car that the dust was so bad on

I just use wax-it-dry... seems to a an easy/cheap way to keep some wax on there...
11/5/2009 9:57:34 AM
^Wax as you dry is a great product, and works very well at extending your current wax. You do however need to have a base layer of regular wax for it to "extend". If not, the wax as you dry wont last more than a week or so.Duragloss #951 Aquawax is a true synthetic sealant in a spray. It has lasted over 4 weeks on a daily driven outside car. Thats pretty damn good from a spray. It costs the same as WAUD, and the looks and slickness are much better.
