I went to high school with him. saw this on facebook, the guy definitely is a different person than he was in high school, I never would have guessed he'd be doing something like this. He was basically like wooderson from dazed and confused. But it's pretty fucking awesome what he's doing now. It's easy to demand that the government help people, but people who actually dedicate a significant part of their lives for the benefit of others are way too rare.

I first met Doc through my brother and their old crew he and my SIL used to hang with...I remember when he first left for Darfur. He used to date something-another barbie on herethat said...definitely voted. my mouth dropped when I saw him on the news tonight; he still looks the same!

^Voting goes through mid-November.When I read the N&O article on this, I was shocked by how many people die of cholera and other water-bourne illnesses each year. It's in the millions; mostly children. What he is doing is really impressive, especially considering that he's doing it in some risky areas in terms of political instability.
