Hey... I went to Acid Park as a kid... I thought it was amazing... But I was wondering if anyone still went and what they think about it... Is it worth the drive into Wilson?http://www.strangeusa.com/ViewLocation.aspx?locationid=7273

It's pretty cool. I'd say it's worth the drive to see it once.

it's certainly at its best at night. Throw your headlights on it and enjoy. You might wanna avoid next weekend though, its the whirlygig festival and people have a tendency of treating the place like Mecca[Edited on October 30, 2009 at 9:50 AM. Reason : dd]

Acid Park is about two miles from my house. Pretty neat place.

go at night when it's windy and take a spotlight. all the stuff is covered in reflectors.my aunt and uncle bought a covered swing contraption that the guy built. he's a hell of a fabricator considering the materials he uses. almost everything is made from scrap.

We had to watch a documentary on acid park in a film class I took here... Seemed pretty neat.

Ok cool.. thanks guys... I went once when I was a senior in highschool at night. I lived in Selma (and everyone went on a regular basis and I thought it was a place for people to do acid LOL ) I thought it was pretty cool then. Was thinking about surprising my boy for Halloween since we don't have any plans. Was thinking about bringing my brother too. Some people say they get scared off by ghosts. But whatever... I don't believe in ghosts... Is it considered trespassing? I mean, I would guess if you created something that catched that many people's attention you would expect people to go see it...[Edited on October 30, 2009 at 10:51 AM. Reason : dsfg]

just admire from the road. he has trouble with teenagers vandalizing his stuff and has been known to run folks off at night.
10/30/2009 10:53:44 AM
make sure you go down the dirt road to the left as well.there is car with a tree grown up the middle of it. pretty creepy at night.
10/30/2009 1:51:03 PM
lol ^ there is some ghost story that goes along with that car. You are supposed to get out of your car and call out some girls name five times.... then go down the dirt road where she will be waiting for you.

the story is that the car wrecked in the edge of the woods is where the whirlygig guy's daughter died when her and her boyfriend were driving around tripping on acidit's completely untrue

^ Yep...I met his granddaughter (I think...Maybe niece) and she confirmed that the story is just a hoax. He just made the whirligigs because he wanted to do it and the car came from a junkyard. I can appreciate that.[Edited on October 30, 2009 at 6:00 PM. Reason : l]
