2006 frontierI want to get a bed cap/canopy/camper shell whatever you want to call it. I know of a place near me on 401-S between Wake Tech and WalMart (closer to WalMart) and a place on Capital blv near the 401N/Capital US-1 split.Just wanted to know if another places existed worth going to. Would a junkyard have a decent one? Just wondering. Not in any hurry, not sure if I want to do this or not. Might just ask for $$ for Christmas to do this since *gasp* there is really nothing else I want for Christmas.

Leonard on Capital, like Ragged said, isn't a bad place to go. That's the place you're talking about right where 401 splits off.You can order any of the major brands with color matched to the factory job. Expect to spend about a grand, maybe a little less.

the color matching on anything but white or black is hit or miss

I think I am just going to get a nice toolbox for the bed and a bed extender instead. Mostly to have open access to the bed.

have you looked at the folding tonneu covers?probably what i am going to end up withhttp://www.bakfliptonneaucover.com/

if I got one it would to KEEP stuff in and that would be able to be cut open with a knife. So a toolbox will suit me better. IT is a cool idea, I mean Wranglers have been doing this for decades basically. And boy let me tell you how many times they get broken into edit: I thought you meant the ones that were like tents that can be the height of the top of the cab that can be retracted. The metal one looks interesting though. Honestly I have had a cover like this on my truck before, just kinda a pain the ass opening and closing. I still have it, its on that you have to snap (which sucks) Spending several hundreds on a nicer version seems like a waste, I'd rather color match a LEER type with windows and what not and leave it on there. Get some rails on the top of it and so on........I'm like Brett Favre in the Sears commercial on what to do. Previous truck just had a tool box (but it was not even an extended cab) and that worked OK for me. Dad has always had a color matched LEER truck cap and he can leave practically anything in there. But backing out with it is nearly damn impossible because you can't see anything. I think I need to be clear on the type of cover I WAS referring to:[Edited on November 3, 2009 at 5:25 PM. those bakflip ones are awesome, the plastic ones are actually what i would get, the aluminum dentsmy dad has one and its great, since you can lock it, and flip the front backward too, to get to stuff in the front of the bead, plus it flips all the way up, so you can use the entire bedits strong as hell, 4 people can sit in chairs on top and weath the race [Edited on November 3, 2009 at 7:33 PM. Reason : why not just buy a suburban?]

cool. I want a black one for sure and midsize of course. I will just get this for Christmas, but need to basically have what I want picked out soon. Measure in person just in case and so on...........

Also find yourself some nice marine grade carpet and line the inside of the box, you will be glad you did. I usually drill a couple of drain holes in the corners of the box, then carpet over them. That way if you ever leave it open and it rains, or should you put a gallon jug in there and it leak it wont marinate everything in coolant. Or milk.
