need some advice... i think i know what i'm gonna do but still, i'd like to get some opinions*getting married in may so keep that in mind -Working now as a temp. employee with the State Government. Should last until about January and then start up again in late Jan/early Feb and last until about July. Potential for getting laid off is always there since it is a temp. job, but I believe the economy is in better shape this go around than it was last spring (was only there from Feb-May instead of Feb-July as I was told). Actually really enjoy this job and the pay is very good, but no benefits. -Permanent Job offer on the table that would begin in December. With a company that I don't have very much interest in at all. Money starting out would not be very good, but the potential to move up is there. Benefits with this company. They are hiring me as someone they want to count on in moving up in the company as a career. I'm not interested in that since we have a family business that I could possibly begin working with in the next year-two.-Family business... Can't hire me now because of economy but 1-2 people are close to retiring which would open up a spot for me. The two folks are up around their 70's so I can't imagine them lasting much longer. -Also help coach HS baseball and that is something I really enjoy doing. Gaining experience and "starting out low on the totem pole" in order to move up in the coaching ranks (high school... college one day...). TEMP Job fits with baseball schedule, PERM Job does not.So my question is... Should I quit the temp job and take the permanent job? Or should I keep the temp. job and hope by the time my time is up, something I am more interested in/family business will be open. With the wedding coming up.. the obvious "stable" answer is the perm. job. It's just not something I am interested in and I don't want to take it if my father's business comes calling to me in a few months. If you need something clarified, let me know. Thanks

i'd choose the one that was more fun unless the $$ was drastically different - $$ is only a factor though b/c both are hopefully short term

don't fall slave to money. once you start doing these only for money soon you'll be souless. do what you love. persue baseball. life is too shor tto spend 40 hours a week doing soemthing you dont absolutely love.

thanks yall. im leaning towards keeping the temp job and just hoping something pans out next summer. there's actually a possibility a permanent job opens with what im doing with the state and that would be great.my degree from state was parks and rec. so the "Career" moves i am looking for are, Parks and Rec / Coaching / Family Business. and obviously by choice of major, money isn't very important to me but I do want to have enough to support myself and my wife. that's the only scary thing about turning down the perm. job for a temp. job and hopes of getting another perm job when it is time.

Go with what you love and makes you happy. Money isnt everything nor should it be (as long as its not a huge difference)
