So I installed snow leopard on a Mac here at work but it isn't compatible with the software I need to run on it. I've tried to just put in the OS X installation CDs but it won't wipe Snow Leopard off....

You will probably have to do a clean install or get better software. Lol

maybe you can install an older mac os in parallels or something?
