not everyone has the option of using Firefox. So your fucking adblock suggestion is retarded.
10/1/2009 10:48:41 AM
aw
10/1/2009 2:59:30 PM
If the thread contains 'ad', some smartass will always say something about adblock.
10/1/2009 3:52:46 PM
http://www.ie7pro.com/Honestly, though, who is more annoying? The guy who posts adblock in every ad thread, or the guy who posts yet another fucking annoying ad thread knowing damn well the absentee owners aren't gonna do shit about it?[Edited on October 1, 2009 at 5:29 PM. Reason : d]

add http://d3.zedo.com to your restricted sites in IE Options.
10/2/2009 9:01:28 AM
^^ Your smartass comment just validated my statement.
10/2/2009 11:20:58 AM
The fact that you're a fucking moron just validated mine.
10/2/2009 9:42:57 PM
You sound fat.
10/2/2009 10:03:00 PM
I've started getting these a bunch in Chrome:They're not always from the same domain, so blocking is basically an arms race. Is there any way the site admins could say, contact the ad company to let them know their ads keep setting off malware/virus alerts? Right now I can't even post in Tech Talk; Chrome pretty much thinks, "It's a trap!"[Edited on October 23, 2009 at 1:13 PM. Reason : .]
10/23/2009 1:12:47 PM
I've been getting those in Chrome too. I didn't put two and two together at first, but I assume this is what sglazier is referring to. I passed it on to the ad company guy yesterday, so we'll see what happens.
10/23/2009 1:36:50 PM
what? does qntmfred still get ads?
10/24/2009 9:16:29 PM
i intentionally subject myself to ads so i can better relate to the commoners
10/24/2009 11:00:33 PM
hahaha
10/24/2009 11:26:16 PM
anybody else having problems like this?
11/5/2009 11:06:51 AM
Ken- Yes, there is a virus stemming from this website with the previously mentioned popups, and there's some website redirect program also and a fake antivirus program install. This basically means I'm done with this wretched hellhole for good. Haha.
11/5/2009 11:48:42 AM
y'all remember which ad was displayed when you got popups or the antivirus malware?
11/5/2009 12:15:46 PM
Unfortunately not.
11/5/2009 12:22:01 PM
11/6/2009 6:45:03 AM
just an update, i've disabled all the third party ads until we figure out what's going on with the ad network
11/6/2009 12:05:38 PM
ok, we've made some changes and we're going to try again. please post if you have any problems with audio, popup or malware ads
11/6/2009 1:16:21 PM

11/6/2009 1:52:24 PM
^^^^ Happened to me about 5 minutes ago. (http://safebrowsing.clients.google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?site=http://bigintcomp.com/docs/%3Fs%3D57&client=chromium&hl=en_US)
11/6/2009 3:40:53 PM
^ thanks. anybody else?
11/6/2009 3:59:29 PM
No viruses but that stupid lord of the rings ad from zedo.com absolutely kills safari and firefox for some reason. Maybe TWW should just get a different ad company, these guys seem really incompetent at keeping the garbage out.
11/6/2009 11:00:24 PM
It also kills IE...well doesn't completely kill but makes it freeze up
11/8/2009 2:20:53 PM
Yeah it was happening in chrome thanks qntm
11/9/2009 8:57:53 AM
11/18/2009 2:12:28 AM
^ I also just got that error message in Chrome.
11/18/2009 8:50:20 AM
When I am not logged in, i am getting virus alerts from this site.
12/6/2009 9:21:32 AM
sooooo I'm pretty some Malware is now on my work comp because of here. :\ The only sites I go to besides tdub is a law site and Google or health sites (for work). Do you think it could be from these ads?
12/7/2009 9:58:02 PM
it's hard to say. i've gotten the warnings in chrome, but i haven't gotten any popups or had anything try to install itself on my computer so i have no way to track down the offending ads and remove them. all i can say for now is, if you have the option of using a modern browser that helps protect from malware, use it. and be aware of what you're doing. if you get a popup that says you have spyware installed, it's probably a trick so don't click it. and, please continue to let me know when you have problems. the ad system is the part that i have the least control over, but i assure you i take this seriously, and so do the owners.
12/8/2009 9:28:33 AM
yeah, samwise said shes done with tww because of the malwaremy friend petejames has had 3 comps or so infected as well, and he too is done with twwTHIS IS THE CANCER THAT IS KILLING /TWW
12/8/2009 11:01:09 AM
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BRING BACK PETE
12/8/2009 1:40:23 PM
The only thing I can think of is maybe clicking an ad once or twice by accident then closing immediately... I'm just done with tww on any PC I use. :/ my mac is fine but I don't want to risk it with another PC.The malware is INSANE. It won't let me open Hijack This or anything that has malware in the description. It even shuts down Firefox when I try to open a page with malware or removal anywhere on it!!
12/8/2009 1:48:26 PM
we've disabled the ad network we believe is responsible for the malware. please let me know if you get any more funky stuff going on. i know it's retarded that i have to keep asking y'all to report this stuff, but for now, it's the best way I have to figure out what's going onalso, i'm really sorry to anybody that's been affected by the poor ad experience lately. ads are a necessary evil to keep the site running, but the last thing i want is for the ads to piss people off.
12/8/2009 3:37:53 PM
bmel got infected by whatever is going through TWW, and she runs adblock. Another TWWer bites the dust
1/2/2010 3:27:57 PM

1/4/2010 1:10:30 AM
I just had Acrobat flip the fuck out on me, and Chrome say it needed to install some plugin to view a thread. Unfortunately I've got the adblock plugin and didn't see what ad network it was trying to serve up.
1/4/2010 11:06:05 AM
qntmfred I took your advice and got Chrome... seems to be working pretty good so far.[Edited on January 4, 2010 at 2:35 PM. Reason : not worth it]

1/4/2010 4:19:17 PM
