It has its moments, but I probably wouldn't keep watching if it wasn't for my wife.

Ok, Glee's "somebody to love" has been on repeat in my office today.

and LOL:

because no one has posted it yet and i enjoy stories with tangents:

Quote :
"NBC NIXES ‘GLEE’ AT THANKSGIVING PARADE

The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is an absolute travesty of television: a vile trail mix combining ads for Broadway shows, floating corporate mascots, high school marching bands, and the worst banter imaginable between members of “The Today Show.” So it shouldn’t exactly be a surprise that NBC forced Macy’s to cancel their plans to have the cast of Fox’s hit show “Glee” perform during the parade. TMZ says:

The network that can’t produce a hit to save its life — at least this year — has banned the cast of “Glee” from appearing at the Parade that airs on NBC.

Sources tell us Macy’s invited the “Glee” cast — the deal was all but signed — but when rival NBC found out, they told the department store to pull the plug.

This story couldn’t possibly affect me less, so here’s something more interesting: I just found out that I’ve seen “Glee” star Lea Michele’s boobs before. I got dragged to a preview showing of “Spring Awakening” on Broadway a couple years back, and at the end of the first act there was a love scene in which the lead actress went fully topless. Lemme tell you, boobs really spice up a musical. Anyway, I guess when “Spring Awakening” became a big hit, they pulled the nudity so good Christians making their way to New York wouldn’t get offended, making those boobs a special limited-time-only deal.

Anyway, I didn’t realize they were Lea Michele’s boobs until I stumbled across this review. “Glee” doesn’t really do them justice — the producers really need to let those babies breathe. Thus completes my surprising, controversial stance that I call, “MORE BOOBS PLEASE.”"

i've loved most of the series so far but didn't like the last episode...the judges were just ridiculous, why would 3 people who knew nothing about music judge a singing competition?

The joke is that things like that actually happen all the time in school systems. No one has time to judge all the silly competitions that go on in high school, so you do end up with stupid situations like that. Just like Perez Hilton being a judge for Miss USA--utterly unqualified, but if you're a local celebrity, you get asked to be part of all sorts of public events.

The premise is cliche, the characters are hollow stereotypes, the genre is commercially dead, but I very much enjoy the show (finally finished it last week). I have a soft spot for musicals and mock broadway, so I liked it pretty much from the beginning.

Their remix of Don't Stand So Close and Young Girl is great.

I don't know about that. The songs are selling well on iTunes and the first CD has already gone Gold despite barely being out over a month.

I probably should have said it has historically, Stein. Previous attempts at television shows like this all failed miserably--that it's working so well now is an exception, although a delightful one. I'm not really sure how long it can last from a respectful screenwriting position though--because it's really only the songs in the episode that kept it afloat the first season.

yeah it's definitely a guilty pleasure, but just on hulu when I'm bored and have time

mostly because the songs are pretty good, and yeah the last episode was about damn time for most of that stuff to be happening

sometimes the blatantly unrealistic sound of the numbers bothers me, but they barely try at least, (what a trumpet, trombone, and drumset are supposed to be providing all of the huge background music in some numbers) but that's just the band dork in me, and the music is probably why i keep watching (and a thing for redheads haha)
