Hello-All other paint threads were over 90 days old....I want to paint my basement or have someone paint my basement (and then maybe move on to the rest of the house). Does anyone have any recommendations for painters... or is it easy and I should do it myself... (all these websites w/ primer and different paint types make me think otherwise)...Or... lets have a painting party... hahaThanks yo

i had fun painting my living room and daughter's bedroom. the hardest part is not screwing up around the ceiling and around window frames and stuff. oh yeah, and when 1 coat of paint turns into needing 2 more coats.

make sure you make sure your tape is on there, dont leave any loose ends or bubbles. Also pull the tape off when its still tacky, otherwise it can peel the paint back and you have a big 'tear' in your paint job.

You can definitely do it yourself. If you want a recommendation, I can tell you elise paints very well, and would love to earn some $$.Painting party is also a great way to go. Make sure you plan to paint the ceiling, and to get the paint that goes on pink, but dries white. By far, the hardest part about painting our living room was making sure we got every single spot. And then about the tape: be careful. I will not be using the blue scotch painter's tape when we do other parts of the house, as it all bled. Every single border we taped with it. I chose that over the green (bullfrog? maybe?) tape because it was a bit cheaper. Mistake :-\

well, first of all....is your basement finished? or are you painting concrete blocks?this kinda influences your next step, since exposed concrete blocks really need a good waterproof primer applied before paint
