9/18/2009 2:29:32 PM

don't get what?
9/18/2009 6:29:19 PM
^^^^ The fronts calipers work on 332mm x 32mm rotors. The rears work on 299mm x 24mm rotors.^^^ No, they've actually been inside in a closet. The rotors are fine and still usable, despite the surface rust. You don't have to get them resurfaced. Just put them on the car and a couple stops will clean them right up.

I'll throw in a set of 540i sport stock equipment
9/21/2009 9:10:34 AM
after those rotors where used you could have put them in a perfect vaccum and they would still rust.
9/21/2009 10:35:31 PM
not if oxygen isn't present... Oxygen is the reason why iron "rusts"... (iirc..)
9/21/2009 10:55:28 PM
damn, those fronts could fit my car. That is my current rotor size, but I would have to find carrier adapters to make them work.
9/21/2009 11:56:09 PM
I know that people make adapters all the time to throw on different brakes. Aparrantly, Toyota truck 4-pot calipers, pads, and rotors from are cheap (compared to porsche options) so a few guys on the porsche forum measured out the adapters and fitted them to the 944. I've even seen Jag brake components on a 944/951. From what I've seen, it's not hard nor that expensive to take measurements, draw it up in autocad, and take to your local machine shop. You make custom sound equipment boxes all the time, so I'm sure you would have no trouble with this task if you were up for it Daryl For vehicle as nice as yours, I'd probably suggest getting the front calipers repainted. Or you could just get a caliper cover kit for like $35 I want to sell this as a complete set. It's worthless if I part out the components. This will be going up on ebay shortly. Seeing how I didn't find any other big reds f/s (that weren't $3k new kits for just the front...) I might get lucky and make more than I'm asking.. we'll see... The worst part is going to be shipping 997 Turbo Brake Kit is $7,645.00!!! http://tiny.cc/GBNm5 [Edited on September 22, 2009 at 10:10 AM. Reason : .]

^^ Wow, I'll consider it... Because you're talking for the front setup only right?http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/partlist_Brake-Pads-Shoes---Front_219_R|GRPBRCOAMS__brake%20pads___Results for 1997 Porsche 911 Turbo :3.6L 3606CC H6 FI Turbo VIN: CYou searched for 'brake pads'2 Results Wagner Pads/ShoePart No. MX447Pads; ThermoQuiet; OE Replacement; Semi-MetallicWarranty LIMITED LIFETIME REPLACEMENT$54.49Wearever Silver Brake Pads/Shoes - FrontPart No. MKD 594Pad; Semi-Metallic; OE ReplacementWarranty LIMITED LIFETIME REPLACEMENT$62.99But I know what you'll say about those Advanced Auto pads, so:http://www.lindseyracing.com/LR/Porsche/944PADSHAWK/HB-944-F.htmlHAWK "HPS-HIGH PERFORMANCE STREET" Pads Code: HB-944-FPrice: $75.23http://www.lindseyracing.com/LR/Porsche/944PADSHAWK/HB-944-Z.htmlHAWK "PC-Performance Ceramic" Pads.Code: HB-944-ZPrice: $106.84So yeah. $450 is really low for the front pair (this stuff retails over $1,500 new...) I'll do no less than $600 for the fronts if I'm parting it out. Rear brakes by themselves will be a little hard to sell since it's the fronts that do the majority of the work, thus needing replacement more often.[Edited on September 25, 2009 at 10:12 PM. nah that's for both dawg they both fit on my car with minor adapter brackets
9/25/2009 11:26:21 PM
So I've got $450.. Thus far...With that said...BUMP!
9/30/2009 12:25:06 PM
I've been offered $550 if I part the front set, which is 1/4 of the price new. Hell, you'd be lucky to find just the front for sale at $900 by itself. Consider the rear brakes "free" with purchase.I've got an ebay bid of $51.00 so far bumpity bump bump...[Edited on October 12, 2009 at 9:28 AM. Reason : .]
