What do people recommend for a beginner?

Can't go wrong with a Honda Rebel 250.Then there's the Buell Blast, which I would love to pick up one day.

There are at least two damn threads on this in the Lounge, one of which is mine.also

Really? I haven't ridden any bikes, but I'd love to learn one day. From the few people I've talked to, they all said it's a fun nimble bike. They don't look too bad either imo. But then again, I'm no bike expert and I'll do plenty of test riding before I make any purchase.I mean, if it's so "horrible", explain. I'd love to hear another side... This is the garage not the loungeI've had a SV650 and I'd reccomend it for a begginer motorcycle

^? I know it's not a lounge, but you can't just say something like "That thing is the most awful excuse for a vehicle" and not explain why.

It's a piece of shit. Does that explain it???

dude its so shitty they wont even make it anymore. they have a video of them trash compacting it on their website..........

yeah i think in the video the engineer also calls it the "be last" himself.

For one, the engine is a huge-ass single cylinder. It sounds awful when it idles and feels like it's about to explode from all the vibration. It's the most uncomfortable bike I've ever been on for that reason. The clutch has a pressure point about >< this big, so it's either all in or all out. It's jerky as hell and I can't imagine recommending that for a beginner. It makes low speed throttle control all but impossible. So basically it's junk imo unless you love a unmanageable clutch and like getting your bones rattled the whole time you're riding.

blasts are the shittiest bikes every made

^^just like he said, vibration from that single bastard of an half of an obolete Sportster engine and oil leaks make the powerplant less than stellar. and in general, suspension and all, it's a cheaply made bikeon the positive side, seat is low, seating position is comfortable, it is really easy on power delivery, and it growls pretty good with a good pipe. But you would grow out of it real quick.now, i'd rock any other Buell any day, but Blast is a bastard child

i believe Ragged is the resident expert on these sorts of thing. the ones with white tires, pink frames, and streamers anyway.
