Cape Hatteras national seashore is one of my favorite places to vacation, but I've never been to a national park except if I was just driving through.

Change this!

It is a huge disservice to one's self to not explore the national parks - especially out west.

I have been totally surprised at how awed I have been by the parks, by the things I have seen, the things that I have realized, and the patriotism the parks have given me.

I'm watching a PBS special about some of the western parks.

It's so cool.
And then they mention places outside the parks, and I can be like I BEEN DERE!

I'd have to say Yosemite or Redwood. I want to check out Glacier some time.

Yes, still vote for a park.

But forests/seashores/national wildness areas...also all totally cool.

Rocky Mountain National Park is like Glacier, actually.

And right outside/around it is Roosevelt National Forest. I like it pretty well, too.

not my picture, but I've been here a few times:

There isn't one portion of Escalante that is just mind-blowing, its everything about it. Calf Creek is an amazing area to spend a few days camping, there are so many awesome hikes (upper calf creek falls, pictured above, and lower calf creek falls jump to mind). Even the drive in is amazing.

Also, Yellowstone, but its so cliche. I would love to go back now that I'm older and can appreciate it more though, the only time I've been I was something like 10 years old. I'm guessing i could spend at least two weeks there, easily.

I would love to see Glacier, its on my top 10 to visit.

Dinosaur is an amazing place. My aunt was a paleontologist there for a while, so every time I went I always got the behind the scenes stuff at the visitor's center (before it closed down) and access to all the restricted areas.

edit: I took some liberties with "park", Escalante and Dinosaur are both national monuments. Not sure what the distinction is, I know there is one though

Everglades is my favorite because a) reptiles and amphibians abound and b) the weather can still be nice in mid-December and c) it's the only NP I've recently been to.

Yellowstone was pretty mind-blowing, but it's been something like 15 years since I was there.

There are many others I'd like to visit if I ever get the chance.

probably yellowstone because there is so much variety, those hot springs at yellowstone were really awesome, but grand tetons has always been a personal favorite of mine, also black canyon is underrated I actually liked it better than the grand canyon which I thought was a little overrated but maybe I just didn't see enough of the grand canyon
